We went at dusk one evening and walked out on the “pier”. There’s a bit of graffiti & the rails aren’t maintained quite as well as they maybe should be, but it’s very pretty!

This place on Lake Ontario is beautiful. We enjoyed the view and all the surroundings. So pretty! I would recommend a stop here whenever you are in Rochester for sure!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They have floating docks so this was not a problem with record levels of high water in Lake Ontario. Location is awesome and having a dingy made for a more comfortable stay. They have electricity & water for boats, however, no fuel but it is just across the river, a 2 min boat ride. The marina is well kept with washrooms/showers, lounge and a small store. The cost per foot was $2 US a ft. There are 3 restaurants and an ice cream parlor attached to the building making dining easy. This is the second time I stayed and i would highly recommend it.

The port of Rochester is the empty shell of where the Rochester Ferry was supposed to be docked. For those who live in Rochester, we all remember the huge debacle where the city purchased the ferry for $32M and after only 3 months of operation shut it down with $1.7 in debt. The port was supposed to be teaming with great shops in the popular Charlotte beach area, but it sits empty, eating up taxpayer dollars. If you look at the port of Rochester's website, you'd think its Chesapeake Bay, but its nothing more than a dilapidated building...more like the joke of Rochester...nothing to do, see or eat. Its shameful that the city tries to deceive visitors with that website. Please don't waste your time on this one.

A little more lively than this area used to be. Good place for a walk and for boat watching, A number of new restaurants in the marina complex. A very handy parking area if you wish to explore a myriad of eateries, pubs and ice cream and custard shops at the end of Lake Ave.

The Port of Rochester is definitely well worth a visit.
There is the marina complex housing a restaurant which offers great waterside views, visitor point, public amenities and an ice cream shop.
There is also a park with inbuilt bbq’s which offers a perfect relaxing space for friends, family, or whatever the occasion.
Whilst we didn’t end up eating at the marina due to slow service, the area itself is worth visiting. The waterside location, overall atmosphere makes it a very enjoyable location whatever your party consists of.

i lived there for ten years.. i miss it soo much.. trying to move back... love the area.. the bars, love to walk the pier.. wish they had a boardwalk though..

We enjoyed walking along the dock looking at all the boats. Everything was clean and well maintained. We walked to one of the local restaurants and enjoyed lunch overlooking the water.

This as the second time our cruise boat had docked in the Port of Rochester. The city of Rochester itself is about a few miles inland, so this is more of a service area. The port facilities at the marina are modest at best, but there are a couple shops and restaurants (and an expensive custard store). There are a few places within walking distance (less than a mile), including a very nice park and beach at the end of the marina area.
