Un museo lleno de detalles para enseñar a los niños y pasar un tiempo en familia. Tiene un area que les enseña sobre la historia de los Estados Unidos, luego tiene una zona de tecnología , sonidos, luces y perspectivas, también zona de ciencias y juegos. El area de snacks y terraza estaba cerrada cuando visitamos el museo, por lo que no pudimos disfrutarlo, pero la pasamos muy bien y aprendimos mucho.
El parqueo totalmente gratis y cómodo.

Es un excelente museo. No tiene grandes obras de arte de nivel mundial (su que si tiene algunos Monet), pero si tiene una colección bastante interesante y de buena calidad, tanto de arte moderno, como de arte clásico e incluso de objetos históricos. es una muy buena opción para visitar en la ciudad.

We went as a group and felt very safe . All security and guests had masks on. Very clean and exhibits were excellent.

The Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester is one of the anchor institutions in the area that make this Northern city a world cultural destination. The special exhibitions and permanent collections are noteworthy.

I love that art museum in Rochester. It is one of my favorite attractions in Rochester the third largest city in New York state. My favorite thing about that museum is that Abraham Lincoln bust. ☺️

This is a beautiful museum with lots to see. It is one of those art museums that has something from virtually every period in art history in it. There are fine examples of American art, African Art, Renaissance paintings, Egyptian coffins, etc. etc. Something to please anyone. When you enter you can go to the left to buy your tickets or you can eat in their luncheon area on the right if you just want to eat and not see anything. There is plenty of free parking on site, and the galleries are accessible to all. Do not miss the second floor with its magnificent central space filled with a massive organ and surrounded by Baroque paintings. They have three Monets, a Tintoretto portrait, a Rembrandt --- something for everyone.

We were in Rochester for a wedding and we had a free day, so we decided to visit the Memorial Art Gallery. It was wonderful. They have a great collection of American Art and it is displayed nicely. There were Monets' and Matisse's I had never seen. As you walk in the courtyard is nicely appointed. Just loved it.

We came to see the Monets and I was disappointed that two of them were in a frame with glass. Part of the joy of a Monet is getting close and seeing the globs of paint he used. By contrast, at another museum on our trip we saw 7 Monets in a museum, and not one was behind glass. It's a small museum with a wide range of paintings and a small sculpture garden outside. We enjoyed the two Tiffany glass pieces, as well.

We (friend and I) spent a bit more than an hour wandering around the galleries. The breadth of the collection is vast, and the work on view are well curated.

I work at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester NY and your note is certainly understood. We are just finishing up a series of renovations to our Forman, Hawks and Wilson Galleries on the first floor. We now have works on view that include Calder (1935), McElheny (2014), and Nevelson (1975) as well as Sargent (1896) and Cave (2014).
The museum's permanent collection of more than 12,000 objects has been called the best balanced in the state outside of metropolitan New York City. We cover more than 5,000 years of world class art history. I hope that you can revisit soon to see these updates. Drop me a line if you have further questions.
