Beautiful outdoor museum! Lots of beautiful walking areas, gardens, sculptures, you name it! They have a large parking lot for busy days. Really beautiful place to walk around & take in the beauty! We saw lots of people having a picnic, walking around, enjoying the outdoors.

The Nassau County Museum Of Art (NCMA) is an amazing art museum and one of the premier attractions of Long Island, New York.
In March of 2023, I brought and treated my wife, Kathy for a visit and self guided tour of the NCMA.
The NCMA’s main building is a Georgian style Mansion that is named in honor of philanthropist, Arnold A. Saltzman and his spouse, Joan.
The Mansion was designed by prominent architect, Ogden Codman, Jr. during the 1890’s. Codman was hired to design the Mansion by former Congressman, Lloyd Bryce. Bryce acquired the estate from the heirs of successful poet, William Cullen Bryant.
Henry Clay Frick, cofounder of US Steel acquired the estate in 1919 for his son, Childs Frick. Childs Frick named his home, “Clayton” and hired architect Sir Charles Carrick Allom to redesign the mansion’s interior and outward facade.
Childs Frick and his family would live on the estate until Frick’s death in 1965. The Mansion and the estate would subsequently get acquired by Nassau County, whom would then convert it to the Museum that it is today.
During our visit, my wife and I toured the main museum building and were deeply captivated by the museum’s extensive collections, exhibits and visually engaging artwork.
In addition to visiting the museum, my wife and I enjoyed sightseeing and taking pictures of the site’s magnificent formal gardens and the well crafted sculptures of Sculpture Park!!!
When visiting Long Island, both Kathy and I highly recommend for everyone to visit and explore this wonderful attraction. We very much enjoyed our time and experience at the Nassau County Museum Of Art and so would you!!!

I was stuck at JFK for a day and wanted to do something different to fill in the time. Discovered this courtesy of Dr Google and was transported. What a find! Apart from the beautiful mansion and the stunning sculptures in the massive grounds, there was also a brilliantly-curated photography exhibition. A genuine hidden treasure.

Such a nice outdoor path for a walk, while viewing the sculptures outside. Great museum exhibits througout the year.
Very close by to Roslyn and the Americana shopping, where you can have lunch or shop.

I am sorry to say I have never heard of this museum! We never would have waited this long. To be fair we did not go in. We walked the road circuit embracing the sculpture garden. Highly recommended. We saw the signs for the nature trails through the forested areas which will be on our list for the spring. A surprise was a special fanciful colorful installation of animals, insects, plants, and geometric figures. This place is a gem. PS Parking was free on a Sunday at least

In the Fall Of 2017, I brought and treated my fiancé, Kathy (she’s now my wife) for a visit and self guided tour of the Nassau County Museum Of Art.
Both my wife and I entered and toured the main museum building and were deeply mesmerized by the museum’s extensive exhibits and collections, and visually engaging artwork. We also learned that the main museum building was once the home of Child Frick, a prominent member of the Frick family and son of Henry Clay Frick, cofounder or US Steel.
In addition to visiting the museum, my wife and I enjoyed sightseeing and taking pictures of the site’s magnificent formal gardens and also viewing the well crafted sculptures of Sculpture Park!!!
When staying in Long Island, both Kat and I highly recommend for everyone to visit and explore this absolutely wonderful attraction!!!We very much enjoyed our time and experience at the Nassau County Museum Of Art and so would you!!!

The colors of the sunset is beautiful. My family and I love walking trails. The trails here are beautiful but need to be maintained for safety reasons.

This is a smallish museum located on outsized grounds. The museum is quite good, housed in a beautiful mansion. We saw the exhibit 'Blue' and were mesmerized by the different physical and philosophical aspects of the curated show. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Just about everyone was wearing a mask inside, and we felt proper precautions were being taken. Afterward we strolled around the grounds seeing sculpture, follies, water areas and magnificent trees. Worth the trip :)

I went to Nassau Country Museum of Art with my son. we are enjoyed the family time.
Because is coronavirus, the indoor is close but outdoor still have many people to enjoyed the sun,fresh air and spring weather. We love here, will come back soon.

My mom, sister and I were here this past weekend. The exhibit was small, the museum/house must have been lovely and the grounds were beautiful with sculptures all around. The building is handicap accessible but unfortunately for my mom the elevator was out of service so we couldn’t take her wheelchair up to the 2nd floor.

I suspect kids would not appreciate most or all of the museum exhibits. The park surrounding the museum has some nice large outdoor sculptures and people do picnic on the lawn at times, but this, too, is not much for kids.

I'm not sure if all library passes are the same. In our case, the was for the entire museum. Specific information about the passes was made available online by the South Huntington Public libray, and we were also able to reserve the passes online.
