Ive been going here a few times a year for the last decade or so. Love the lay out and the array of goods. However, I noticed much of the stock is pretty expensive for what it is. i took an old tenon saw ( which required setting and sharpening) and a spirit level, which needed truing, to the cash desk and asked for a reduction in the price. Considering the tools were in need of major attention I felt that a discount of maybe £5 off the total of £35 was fair. ( I do collect old tools and have a reasonable idea of the value). I was given a couple of odd reasons why they do discount. ??? fair enough. I left the tools. The dealer has no cash, still has the items to clean etc. Ive still got my cash, and will find the goods elsewhere. Wonder if the dealers know this is happening...

This antique shop is located on the top floor of the Salt Mill building. There were numerous different stalls with various specialities. All the goods were reasonable quality antiques not bric-a-brac. We were tempted by many things that we didn’t know we wanted to buy, but unfortunately couldn’t find the specific items we were after.

We have visited this anitiques emporium on several occasions previously and brought a visitor from Australia here in the New Year. Each time we have found absolute bargains and this time was no exception. It displays an incredible mix and range of furniture, jewellery, pictures and general household objects and our guest was fascinated! Well worth a visit - but give yourself plenty of time to look for those bargains!

Downright rude staff. On my visit recently I encountered a hostile attitude from the second I stepped through the door. I was clearly unwelcome and left immediately. I will never go back. Best avoided.

If this business wants to continue it might be advisable to have staff that are friendly and know how to treat customers instead of the rude and ignorant people who work there.

It was a surprise to find such a cornucopia of treasures inside the massive mill building .As with most antique centres, with independent dealers , a plethora of different items ... but unlike some with dusty cabinets they seem to have more pride and the cabinets sparkled. Some items seemed on the high side but a vast number were well within budget. It surprised me with the large floor space there was furniture, jewellery,militaria, tin toys,ceramics,watches..you name it..it seemed to be on offer.well worth a visit

Cluttered, priced to the hilt, and a distinctly jumpy and hostile attitude from Captain Mainwaring & his entourage (think Dad's Army, but more psychopathic) who seemed to be have been left in charge when we visited.

A maze of different treasures of all eras from vintage to antique I was spoilt for choice I don't think I've ever seen such a range how the staff manage I don't know but they do an amazing job and did not complain once when I was asking to see in cabinets on different sides of the shop, so much choice I'd advise taking at least an hour or two to look around at least

Salt’s Mill is such a vast edifice it can fairly hide quite an expansive cornucopia of antiques in one of its corners. Such is the Carlton Fine Art and Antique Centre on the second floor. My interest is in art so I was pleased to see scattered around the various alcoves an eclectic selection of paintings but mainly prints by some British masters such as Philip Sutton and Stanley Jones as well as some by international artists such as Andre Minaux from
France, Jay Rosenblum from the USA, Rafael Bogarin from Venezuela and photo prints by Joseph Albert Slominski from Germany. Most surprising of all was the John Wells print I purchased having last seen it on sale at something of a premium in my local antiques shop in Wandsworth which has since closed.
