This little business is good for a browse, and you may find yourself wanting to return. On the clothing design side it offers some ready made clothes and suitable accessories, with the emphasis on sculptural shapes and use of unusual textile remnants and old kimono silks -- for example a short black woolen cape/coat lined with coloured, patterned silks. You can commission your own designs and items will be made there.
On the art side, the space is hung with for-sale artworks. Individual artists and groups of artists are invited to apply to exhibit their work.
The business describes itself as being in Castlemaine's west end. It occupies a shopfront space in the street that leads uphill from the railway station to the main street (Midland Highway). At the time I visited days/hours of opening were Thurs-Sun 11-5pm.
I won't be rushing back. But if I had some special old fabric and an idea for a one-off garment, this could be just the creative workroom to help me.

Just to be clear I design and make all the garments and my husband is responsible for the artwork in our shop and art space. (We do not take on designs by others.)
Our business name has changed to reflect the art & design brand 'd+_' (design plus).
d+_ is a shop and art space in Castlemaine’s quiet west end, offering a mix of art + sculpture + ceramics + jewellery + handmade garments + bags + scarves + bed linen.
