A must visit when in Castlemaine. Steve has an excellent, eclectic range with fantastic deals on the wines he sells under his store label. There are great beers from craft labelled beers, some rare treats from local boutique and regional wineries, and a wide array of wine's of all persuasions to suit everybody's requirements. And to top it all off, he is a top bloke.

If you’ve got a family member who likes wine, beer or cider but have no idea what to buy them, visit Steve at the Castlemaine Central Wine Store. He’s always happy to give some advice and it’s usually not the most expensive he recommends!

I love this wine store. Simple as that. The owner Steve is a really nice guy and he knows the wines he stocks and he's always happy to recommend a wine based on my budget. And I love it that he always remembers me from previous visits. I've never been disappointed with any of my purchases, and now make it my business to pop in to buy a bottle or two whenever I'm in Castlemaine.

Wonderful range of wine and spirits and great knowledgeable advice means that you will never turn up to your friends with a dud (No matter how picky they are!).

What a great little store !
- the best selection I've seen of local beers & wines in one place.
The manager was very friendly & highly knowledgeable.
He helped me pick out a few different wines as gifts for my family & also mentioned fun/interesting facts about each wine/winery.
The customer service I received was outstanding & the product selection is quite extensive (for a small store).
With wines starting from below $10 (right up to the fancy, expensive stuff), there's something to suit every: taste, budget & occasion.
A fine example of a local, independently owned wine store.

Steve is very welcoming and knowledgable. He'll help guide you to a wine that best suits your occasion. He has great knowledge to share and knows many of the local winemakers personally. A great selection and range of prices to satisfy most tastes and budgets. Support your independent wine seller and by-pass the supermarket chains!

The establishment of this little wine store was a remarkably good idea. Good selection of local wines. Friendly manager makes the visit a joy. I wish more of the Castlemaine establishments understood the importance of friendliness and developing good customer relations, its part of the "deal".

This shop is a real little gem. They mostly have wines from around the central Victorian region and there were a lot of wines that we had not heard of before. There is also a good selection of cleanskins and the couple of bottles we bought were great value! (I wish we'd bought more!)
The guy at the counter was really helpful and didn't try to convince us to buy the most expensive wine in the shop! We will definitely return when we're next in Castlemaine.
