There is a small part of the beach for safe swimming but there are often waves. Not a problem if you stay in the shallow water. If you are an experienced swimmer then you could body surf on the main beach. I agree with a previous post that Dunsborough and Busselton are more protected beaches but if you have transport then it isn't far to travel from Yallingup to Dunsborough and Busselton.

Hello: I'm not aware that there is anything on Yallingup Beach for rent. it's not that kind of beach. it's a very residential area with summer homes for Perth people, and everyone brings their own gear. Great surf though! There's a few shops at the town centre (which is basically a crossroad), and there's a surf shop, cafe, and bathing suit store. It's a tiny cute, posh, lovely place on a great part of the coast with towering hills above it which you can climb or drive up, for great views up and down the coast.
