Perfect day on the water

Wonderful experience with rafting on the Watauga. Dylan the guide kept us laughing and was very calm and skilled. Great first experience for my kids. Plus fun water battles between our rafts!

Great lazy day on the river.

Great relaxing afternoon on the River with River and Earth adventures. This was one of the few places that would launch tubes after 2:00. We had a blast and the scenery was beautiful.

Great kayak trip!

Lucas did a great job getting me out on the New River and educating me, and brought me back in the shuttle safe and sound. Very peaceful kayak trip on a Monday morning, loved it! Definitely will be back to kayak with them again.

Cave / Raft combo was INCREDIBLE!

Caver Dave was a great guide. Did the cave / raft combo. Definitely worth it. The caving was very exciting. I have never done anything like that before. An experience I will never forget. One of the best days of my life!

Incredible experience

Caver Dave was extremely knowledgeable about the cave and made the incredible experience even better. Rafting was quite an experience as well but the water was freezing. Can’t wait to come back with the rest of the family.

Needs some improvement

The New River tubing definitely needs some improvement. This was our first experience using this company and it was not as organized as others we have used. No one greeted us as we arrived or even acknowledged us. We signed waivers on our own and no one checked us in. We had a large party but booked days ahead of time and our tubes were not ready. They did not supply us with rope to tie together. The tubing was great once we were able to get on the river. Even with the water level a bit low we enjoyed our experience. When we arrived at the take out area, no one was there to assist us out or ready to drive us back. We had to send two of our drivers and wait for them to bring our cars. Overall, we had a great time but we had easier, more helpful experiences with other companies.

Family (& dog) friendly fun!

We had fun today on the 2 hour float trip from Todd, NC. We rented 4 tubes, and a cooler tube and brought our 4 month old puppy!
Very friendly staff (when we called to book, at the put in, and the shuttle drivers at the end). Highly recommend!

Amazing day.

What a day! We did the cave and rafting combo. Caver Dave was our guide and he was amazing! We learned so much. Extremely knowledgeable. A couple of tips for the cave portion: wear pants, boots, grippy shoes, long sleeve. Be prepared to get extremely muddy!!! The rafting portion was relaxing. One class three which was fun. Nice way to end the day. Would highly recommend this adventure!

Caving and Rafting with Caver Dave

The caving and rafting expedition with Caver Dave was absolutely amazing. Caver Dave is personable, knowledgeable, and fun. The cave was breathtaking. Caver Dave caters the trip based on the desires and comfort level of the group. He allowed us to explore numerous side tunnels. He took us up the “attic” and assisted us up some of the trickier features. It was an epic adventure.

When we hit the water Dave allowed my kids to use inflatable kayaks to keep things challenging. We also did some cliff jumping.

This was our fourth expedition with River and Earth. We have also used some of the other companies. From now on, we will always use River and Earth. Why? Because of guides like Caver Dave. Because it is a smaller and thus more personable company. Because the guides love and respect nature. The bus may be old and stinky, but for us that is part of the charm. This company and their guides have a lot of personality.
