Why is the water so warm in the pool? Is it heated?? I have never sweated inside a pool before. I was very disappointed. Not refreshing at all.

Nice park with a walking/Biking trail as well as tennis and vollyball courts. Especially enjoyed the botanical garden. Christmas lights starting in November look like they will be fantastic. Will come back to see them.

This was our first visit to stay at the campground. We have come to the park before several times and enjoyed the park itself. The campground is absolutely a new favorite for us. Clean, well organized, sites are nicely spaced and plenty of trees. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

There are multiple issues. 1st when we arrive there was only 1 lane open to wait in. After about 40 minutes a second lane was added those car enter the lights and finished before my car entered the lights. 2nd staring at a penguin that does not correctly light up or a large tree with a delay to light (about every 11 sec) does not make the wait to enter better. 3rd the individual collecting money on my side: 2 cars entered on the other lane before she had processed our money. 4th there is about 20 minutes of light for over 2 hours of waiting.
It is not well organized and there are burnt lights in the show. As multiple other reviews have mentioned similar concerns I would not call this a rare occurrence. I would call this a trend that needs to be addressed. I would recommend seeing lights in your neighborhood.

I have been to Tanglewood Festival of Lights three years in the past. It was always a magical experience. Of course the s’mores fire pit and gift shop helped. The absence of that would not have mattered if the management was coordinating properly.
This year was disgusting, grueling and militant .
We got off the NC 40 exit at 7:30 pm to a group of police directing you left, uturn back and then sit and sit in bumper to bumper. After being stuck in car with no alternative exit, directed by police that had no real plan and driving around a field with a few lights and a two small areas of portable pottys, we arrived at actual lights at 11:40.
Once in the actual area, it was similar to other years but took only 25 minutes. The shop and s’mores would had helped ease the painful memory and aches from sitting in the car for 4hours.
Then it was over.
Do not go!

We went there specifically to tour the arboretum which was small but varied and delightful. Lots of interesting paths made it so that you were exploring. This was during COVID-19 and it was lightly traveled so we had plenty of space to ourselves. Late season but still plenty to see with a wonderful children's garden. Also don't miss the woodland section which is off paved trail.
Lots of people otherwise enjoying the wide paths through the park. You could easily spend hours there.

We were there to stay at the inn. The park is beautiful and there is a lot to do from walking trails, the gardens, golf courses, horseback riding and picnics. During normal times, they have playgrounds, paddles boats and a swimming pool. We had a wonderful time exploring the park, especially the gardens. It’s really peaceful in the late evenings when everyone leaves.

Tanglewood is our go-to place to walk our dogs. There are paved multi-use trails (walking, , running, bikes, skating, rollerblading), off-road biking trails, and horseback riding trails that can be accessed at the front of the park. The dog park is also at the front of the park.
There are beautiful gardens, picnic tables and shelters, clean bathrooms, tennis courts, golf, lakes, paddleboat and canoes, pools and playground equipment at the center of the park and nature trails along the Yadkin River at the back of the park.
The outdoor pools are usually accessible during summer. With the pandemic, I don't know when they will open this year. The playground equipment is not accessible at this time either due to the pandemic.
I've never used the RV park, but if often has a respectable number of RVs there.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG lines waiting to get in and roads are congested with locals trying to get home (which seems unfair to them). It is a fun time for the kids to enjoy with the lead up to Christmas. However, you have to be patient or it can be frustrating.

Looking for somewhere different to go. My sister and brother-in-law were down from Chicago. Was a nice drive from Salisbury NC. We were there after Christmas so the lines were not quite as long but there were still a wait. Usually waiting in lines to get in to see lights is really boring but because they had a pre-light show it kept things interesting while we were waiting. Everyone truly enjoyed it from my 80-year-old mother to my 15-year-old son. Had a nice little crafters area to buy Christmas presents and a food truck to get something to snack on. Would recommend getting there early or your wait in line will be really long.

Sorry for the late response I live 10 minutes away, I have never been on Christmas Day I know from friends it's been about 3 hours to get in.

we arrived about 5pm and there was already a line but we were able to get in line and about 6 when it's dark they'll let you start moving through. there were about 50-75 cars in front of us. it takes about an hour to ride through the lights. they have a gift shop and Santa but we didn't stop for that. I hope this helps

We have a group of 25 in several cars meeting there. Is there is a good place we can all meet up outside of the park that is easy to find and to leave a car?

Is it better to get in line before it opens, around 5, or just before close on a weeknight? Waited 45 min last night just to get to the turns was told it would be another 2 hours to get through. Maybe you should sell tickets online with time slots. Or do more nights where people can walk through.
