Started out looking for an eBike and found great customer service! Dave and his crew were fantastic educating us on the different Aventon eBike models and Yakima carrier options. We left with a new bike, rack, some clothing and the feeling of being appreciated! This store is full of high quality merchandise and we are so glad to have found them. Highly recommend!

Dave and Heidi are amazing. Helpful in every way, great advice, insiders' experience, they know the lake, they know the gear, they know how to repair the gear. The store seems to focus on higher-end products: Yeti, Hobie, Perception, AquaBound, Yakima, I forget 'em all right right now, but you know that if you get it here, it's a good brand.
Customer service? A few days ago, we met another couple in their parking lot. The couple had just bought a new kayak and needed paddles and life jackets--but it was after hours. Dave came out and started talking to us. Before you know it the store was opened back up again, and the couple not only bought what they needed, but got great advice from Dave on where to put in for a late-evening paddle AND he met them at pull-out to make sure everything went OK for them. I asked Dave about this, he says "people should know that if it's after hours but they need something, they should call! If we're here, and we frequently are, we'll open up. I mean, of course ... we're here!"

Took my Kestral road bike in for a tune up ,to get ready for the upcoming riding season. Dave did a awesome job bike shifts and performs great. Very refreshing to get a tune up and not be bombarded by potental upgrades etc.Fast turn around fair price great customer service

We ended up renting paddle boards here for several days. We started with a single day, and extended several times since the kids were having so much fun. During the rental process, the owner (I’m assuming), was very helpful and informative. And when we returned our rentals, she had and endless amount of patience for an inquisitive 5 year old. Overall, a very positive experience, and the prices were lower than other facilities nearby with the same merchandise.

Thanks Kim - Always happy to hear everyone had a great time! And yes, that was Heidi that was helping you - we truly are a "mom & pop" shop (or more accurately now, a "grandma & grandpa" shop). We try hard to make everyone's visit to the lake a memorable trip!

Today, my husband and I attempted to return/replace an Ugly Stick rod and reel purchased from Lake Gaston Outfitters. When my husband went to put it together, he noticed the reel was broken. As soon as we entered the store, a woman approached us, who we later found out was the owner. Before completing our request to replace the rod, she told my husband she "fully inspects the rods before they leave the store and it was not broken when it left". The woman was assured we did not break the reel and attempted again to explain but she again spoke "the rod was not broken when it left the store". She then said "maybe your friend broke it". At that point, my husband told her she had called him a liar 3 times to his face and we left. We put the rod in the car and headed over to Food Lion. When we came out of Food Lion with our groceries, she ran out of her store towards us. My husband again told her "our business was done and to please leave us alone". He proceeded to push our cart to the car and as he was loading the groceries into the car, she attempted to reach in our car and take the rod and reel. Again, my husband said "I'm telling you to leave me alone. You have approached me in a parking lot after calling me a liar. Please go back into your store". She kept on until I said "look turn around and go back into your store. Whereby she threw a piece of paper into the cart. Needless to say, both of us were very shaken. Please use caution when/if doing business with Lake Gaston Outfitters. I will be making additional post and calls in hopes this doesn't happen to someone else.

Hi Linda, As previously stated, we didn't have a replacement fishing rod for you, so we printed out the warranty replacement information for you so you could get the rod replaced. But you left the store before we could even get it printed so we offered it to you in the parking lot. You were *never* called a liar and there were witnesses in the store that will attest to that. No one reached in your car, and no papers were thrown anywhere. We're sorry you had an unpleasant experience with LGO - we try our best to exceed expectation in every interaction we have with the community.

Dave and Heidi are wonderful! They are friendly, knowledgable and so accommodating! They walked us through what kayak options they had and helped us select the best fit for our needs, pointed out a few cool places we could hit on Lake Gaston, delivered the kayak right to our campsite and picked it back up as well. They really set us up for a fantastic day kayaking on the lake! It was a perfect close to our mini vacation. I can't wait to visit again so we can return and rent a SUP next time!
