A wonderful place to visit to swim and relax. The parking facilities are excellent as are the changing facilities. The area is really well maintained and the swimming area is so well laid out. Perfect for families also.

We go here quite often paddleboarding and its a beautiful place to spend a few hours...lately though Eastern Europeans have been turning up with bucket loads of beer, bbq's and loud speakers playing awful music, as you walk onto the grass area from the carpark there's a sign saying none of this is allowed, all of a sudden they can't read or speak English and spoil it for everyone else, after yesterday's visit I just cycled passed the area and its absolutely covered in rubbish...they have no shame

Epic spot for a swim. Car parking, toilets, during summer folks sell snacks. Shallow lake bed with a pier for jumping in (feet first). 5 min drive from collinstown.

Nice lake with lovely views that can get very busy on occasion. Toilet, benches and car parking available.

Near the Fore Valley. Lough Lene is a very tranquil spot. There is a car park and toilets available. A nice place for a picnic and a swim.

Difficult place to find but worth researching. Much bigger lake than I had expected and there are good facilities there - big tarmacadam car park, toilets, changing rooms and benches around the lake. Lovely scenery too. Worth a trip.

Whether it's for a sit and think on life, listening to the waves lapping on the shore or a swim on a sunny day this beautiful lake nestled in the lush green countryside just a mile outside the lovely village of Collinstown is definitely worth a visit! With previous Blue Flag Status, the water is crystal clear with a sandy shore for swimming. Large diving board, toilets and dressing rooms cater for all ages. Fishing is permitted in season and boats can be rented locally. A trip to one of the three islands located on the lake is just amazing! Some breathtaking scenery surrounds the lake with great views of the rolling hills of neighbouring Castlepollard and Fore. A definite gem in the Midlands worth visiting!

We love visiting Lough Lene for a swim on a warm day or for watching the world go by and a walk when it's not so warm. There is a lovely safe swimming area here.
