Isaac Hunter's felt like the neighborhood pub - we visited several times during our stay in Raleigh as it was just down the street from the hotel. My friend loved the "cherry bounce" drink and he had several!! Nice casual setting and I loved the high back benches.

Disgraceful service. Their bouncers are allowed to assault unassuming, compliant patrons.
If you like getting thrown to the ground, watching your sister get shoved by bouncers, or having your credit card confiscated by staff without any explanation, this is the bar for you.
I visited the bar with my cousins after my one cousin got married. Around 1am, we were preparing to leave, because I was getting sleepy. I was operating on little sleep having worked until 3am the day prior and had driven 9 hours to get to Raleigh.
The bouncer noticed I was sleepy and came up to me and said it was time for me to leave. His tone was not demanding or rude at first, and I said I was getting ready to leave and was compliant. I walked with him to the door on my own accord. Once at the entrance I turned to let my sister know I would be outside. I was a step from the front entrance. It was at that point that this (mid 20's, scruffy red haired, wearing a baseball hat) bouncer threw me on the pavement outside the bar and began grinning. I proceeded to ask why the other two bouncers allowed that. They both looked uncomfortable with what happened because they saw that I was being compliant, but still did nothing. When my sister came over, she was pushed outside too, again for no reason.
Then finally my cousin came out after they refused to allow him to close his tab and get his credit card back. He had to call and have it cancelled instead.
Note, that I wasn't being disorderly, I didn't get in a fight. I'm not even arguing with their decision to ask me to leave. They are allowed to do that. I did nothing to warrant physical force, but that's the type of "southern hospitality" I received at this bar.
The bar itself isn't a bad place. I harbor no bad feelings towards the bartenders working there. I do take issue with an ownership that allows staff to physically assault their patrons without any reason. I really wonder what they do when there is a real issue.
I attempted to call ownership, but they don't have a working phone. I have emailed them and will wait for a response. If I don't receive one, then at least I know the police department responds and I'll give them a call and they can take a look at the bar's security footage. They don't need to take my word for it. They can watch the tape. There were witnesses I've spoken to. The ball is in your court, Isaac Hunter's.

Very relaxed atmosphere. I think I came here on a "themed" night because they were playing 90s music. It was a pleasant surprise. Even though it was busy the bartenders were friendly and fast. I think the dance floor should be explained more but its in a small building so nothing much they can do. All in all a good place

Went here with six friends around 10pm on a saturday. The bar was well staffed (four bartenders) and we got served immediately. A small live band was playing and the music was loud but not overwhelming. The offerings at the bar ranged from super casual beer and brown to a few infusions and craft cocktail offerings. Parking was a few blocks away so you may want to drop friends off first. Overall a great place to grab a drink and let loose a bit.

This is a bar. As such you can play darts, pools and ping-pong if you like. It is a good place for a quick pint or to meet friends. It is a good place to stop in after dinner too. On the Friday we were in town there was a band as well. They are purveyors of local beer and have a wide selection of fine whiskies and bourbon. They also make their own infusions, the oddest being a pepperoncini infusion probably good for Bloody Marys. This is a local bar and the folks there will gladly fill you in on the history of the original tavern!! I recommend you stay as long as you like.
