Cannot possibly understand how this venue receives any positive reviews. The people working there are rude and seem to be untrained. One person checks you in for COVID status only to have another employee standing right next to them there say stop you can’t go in as you haven’t been checked when they clearly saw their fellow employee check. Then people actually checking tickets don’t know how to use their devices, and seem quite oblivious as to what to do when they can’t scan a ticket. Speakers are distorted so music is far from clear and crisp as it should be. Seating area has trip hazards. Seats need to be cleaned…..and the list just keeps on going.

Great venue that was clean and efficient on getting everyone inside. The security, beer stations, ushers - everyone was cheerful and helpful.

This was a smaller venue than my daughter and I are used to. Checking in and security was a breeze, very easy property to navigate. Prices were compatible to higher than bad venues. Womens bathroom had a ton of stalls which is a plus at the lines that were there. Small grass areas, but seems vantage points were good throughout. Staff was friendly, all around great experience. Love that it was walking distance from our residence inn hotel.

Last month, Red Hat Amphitheater was charged & convicted (by the NC ABC Commission) with refilling liquor bottles with other brands.
I would seriously question their whole food & beverage operation. Stooping that low to squeeze more profit out speaks volumes.

Staff and security were professional and efficient. Entering and exiting went smoothly. But some aspects of this venue are just weird. It lacks a roof over the seating, which many similar places have. And the lawn section looked so small it was hardly worth having. And the front section of chairs were not mounted seats but rather rows of plastic, moveable chairs-- looked like cafeteria chairs. Other odd features were the bathroom lighting that was really bright--the performer joked that the bathrooms were lit up brighter than the stage and there was some truth to that and the freight trains that go by about once an hour blowing their horns. And then there was a huge section you had to avoid because there were sound towers blocking the view-- that doesn't seem well thought out. Luckily the ticket vendor marked those seats as obstructed view so we were able to avoid them but it makes a big whole of space basically unusable. So not a bad experience but far from my favorite concert experience.

This was hands down one of the best places to watch a concert! We got seated tickets but honestly regardless of where you are seating or standing, you will be able to see the stage and naturally hear the music.
The security and staff were really nice and helpful. The staff made sure that the aisles were clear throughout the whole event.
The drinks are what you would expect for a concert setting. It was roughly $14-16 for a 24 oz. Premium beer and roughly $36 for a whole bottle of wine which serves roughly five cups. The pretzel was going for $4.
I would recommend Red Hat to anyone wanting to enjoy an evening rocking it out to your favorite band (weather permitting).

1st time at Red Hat. Loved that it was much smaller than Walnut Creek venue in Garner. For a rock concert acoustics were great. Not sure how other geners would sound, i dont have reason to believe it would be bad. From a sound perspective, there is not a bad seat in the house. The seating area is flat so beware of obstructed views. The staff was plentiful, nice and professional. Concert was not sold out so bathroom and bar lines were nonexistent.

Drove 5 hours to this venue to attend the, Why don’t we concert. Purchased tickets in section 6 online. When we got to our seats we discovered our view was completely blocked by a structure housing video cameras and lighting equipment. I can not believe this venue would even sell these tickets to consumers. This is wrong and very dishonest of Red hat Amphitheater (Bait and switch). Even now if you look at the map and camera view when buying your tickets, there is no mention of this obstructed view in section 6. There were several other patrons equally upset about this. We went to the attendant to complain, they offered to move us if we could pay them $60 in cash. I did not have that much cash on me and they would not accept a credit card, which I can’t help but wonder if the attendant just wanted to pocket the cash. So buyer beware of buying tickets in section 6. The structure blocks half of section 6. Here you can see a more accurate view from section 6. We also learned that our tickets cost the same as the people in section 1 with an unobstructed view.

We've been to several shows here but I must be jinxing it: our last several concerts had weather delays. Even if it's not raining, they'll evacuate if there is lightning nearby. Just follow the artist or Live Nation NC on twitter to see if the event is cancelled or if they're letting fans back in. The venue itself is nothing fancy, the stage just looks like a big metal frame. There is no covered seating, and it's either in seats or on the lawn. They do not let you bring in chairs since the lawn is small and sloped; you can bring blankets and towels. They also let you bring in one sealed water bottle. As with most concert venues, food and drink are overpriced. There are several parking decks nearby that charge you, but if you get there early you can find nearby free street parking after 5 p.m. Worth checking out for seeing artists you like, but check the weather forecast.

If I buy an assigned seat ticket, can I still walk out to the lawn area (these are more expensive)?

They do not check your tickets in the lawn area since it’s a general admission area and the lowest tier of tickets, so you would be good. The lawn at Red Hat is not like a normal Amphitheater lawn area, it’s quite small and steep and they usually have the sound equipment and lightning partially obscuring the view so your seat would still be your best bet for watching.

I saw folks with blankets on the lawn. I'm pretty sure I didn't see anyone bring in a chair. Wait, a quick visit to their faq verifies that only blankets are permitted on the lawn. (I can't post the link here, but it's on their website.)
How far do you have to walk from parking to the theater. My family can't treck far becasue of bad knees so can you park close
