About an hour, a little overgrown, but relatively easy until you hit the fire break road! Some nice views. Worth it

Whether you are doing the canyon walk, along the riverside or doing the climb to Apex Lookout there is just so much to enjoy around Bright. The Ovens River is clear and bubbling with beautiful trees, parks or bushland on either side with glorious mountains in the background. Good for the little ones but if you want a bit more of a challenge head up to Apex Lookout.

Every time we stay at Bright, I do this exhilarating walk. My husband enjoys the excellent cycling paths, whereas I walk the trails. This walk to the lookout, is located at the back of Bright:-you turn at Star Street,cross the river and follow the signs to "Apex Lookout".It is well signed and the board states it takes 1&1/2 hours,but it only took me one hour. It is a narrow trail that ascends continually to the top-quite a good workout! There is a bench at the summit to sit and absorb the view below:the town of Bright.Then the quick descent-well worth the effort.

I have been to Bright a couple of times and absolutely love the place. The trail beside the Ovens River (well large creek really) is a must do when you visit. I stayed on the down stream side of the town both times and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet walk back to my accommodation, beside the river. Nothing but burbling water over the rocks and birds to listen to. Don't miss this experience.

There are a number of enjoyable trails around Bright : the Canyon Walk, the Cherry walk, the Apex lookout walk, Huggins lookout and the Valley View Walking Trail. They are well signposted through classic bush. For views try the Apex walk.

Forget the car , bring your walking shoes or your mountain bike- so many fantastic short/medium/long walks around Bright and Wandiligong. Nice easy trails that are very well posted -just loved the river walks and getting away from the traffic and people. Its a great place to get back to nature and wind down from the normal hustle and bustle of life.

Its one of the great opportunities in Bright to take advantage of the many walking trails. This like many others is easy to navigate and a pleasant way to see the countryside

Most people think that all the mountain bike tracks in Bright are in the pines - wrong! Valley View is an awesome technical downhill trail that links at the bottom to Dermots Trail - take a left at the bottom to ride Dermots through to Walkers Lane. Other native mountain bike trails are off Huggins Lookout, Apex Hill (on the north side of town), Bakers Gully Dams and along Ovens River and Morses Creek.
