Since it's so busy, parking can be a hassle. Lots of shops and the harbor is beautiful. We come here every summer heading south and it's always a great stop. Lots of restaurants.

Nice clean pier and park

Not much to say it’s a pier and park like area. It’s clean and nice and I’m pretty sure the pier won’t fall down anytime soon which is a positive. There’s a set of steps leading down to under the pier, my little guy had a ball catching tiny crabs and releasing them while waiting on grandparents to finish grandparent things. If ya ever want to just sit and look at water which is an underrated activity in my book I would drive down here and do it.

Nice pier for strolling or fishing. There are bench seats with foot rests to sit and enjoy the water views. You can see the lighthouses off in the distance. There are also benches and swings all along the waterfront, as well as sidewalks.

Delightful Southport Pier

We love walking along the river at Southport! It's the perfect place for an evening stroll or quiet contemplation from the many swings. It is also interesting to watch those fishing off the pier. The night we were there, scenes for a movie were being filmed nearby, which added to our fun evening.

The pier and boardwalk are nice with signs along the way with interesting facts. Plenty of benches on which to sit and enjoy the great views of the water and boat traffic.

Southport is great, could be a little better with more variety of stores like in the past.
