Excellent 1/2 mile paved trail, some by river. Well kept. Great wood carvings on the paths. Other trails off the main loop. Clean restrooms.

Best park in the mountains. The scenery is amazing. The Watauga River flows along the park allowing visitors to wade or fly fish. If you are in the Boone area this place is a must.

Absolutely beautiful 😍 This is a must visit while you are in the area. The walking path was awesome. The benches all over the park were placed in the perfect spits.

This park. AMAZING. We are so grateful for this park. It is perfect. Kids can play on the playground, in the river, in the open areas. The tree carvings are the cherry on top. It’s just perfect.

Peaceful and nice 1 mile walk along the watauga Which loops back to the parking lot.
There are many old and stately trees all of which have been labeled. It is nice to be able to identify some of these common species
Nice playground for kids and fishing area Plus gorgeous sculptures of wood Free entry but 5 dollar donation suggested Also close to mast general store So the shoppers can have their fix as well

A beautiful community nature park located in Valle Crucis North Carolina, near Boone. The park has a stream that is easily accessible, as well as a walking trail and play area for the kids. A great family park.

This amazing park is a blessing to residents and visitors alike. It's a wonderful place for younger children to play on the playground or run through the fields. Joggers and cyclists enjoy the paved path. The more adventurous make their way down to the river to cool off. Those with a picnic meal enjoy the covered pavilions. Some of the park activities and facilities are still taking a break until things return to normal. Even with those limitations, it is a wonderful addition to the Valle Crucis community. Once the parking lot is full they request no additional visitors so if going at a busy time, heads up.

Park with a playground, covered picnic tables, and a nice walking or running trail around entire park. Back side of park runs adjacent to Watauga River. Great for picnic's, walking and playground for the kids.

Had a great walk with dogs exploring around the loops and river. Weekly events in summer and appears to be wheelchair accessible.

How far is the river from the parking area? What about play area from parking area?

River access is only about one-to-two-tenths of a mile from the parking area, either around a paved path or across a field, and the playground area is very close, less than 100 feet.
How many/large are the picnic tables? Is it hard to get one on a typical weekend? We have a large family gathering with about 20 people and we're looking for a good picnic spot.
