Bel endroit entouré d'un cimetière. Le prix n'est pas excessif vu le lieu et l'intérieur de la basilique possède beaucoup de charme. . Très bon accueil.

Un bel endroit, bien restauré et très poétique.
On accède par un petit cimetière à un beau portail sculpté.
Facile d’accès.
Le prix d’entrée est raisonnable car il inclus l’accès au cloître de la cathédrale Saint Bertrand et aux vestiges situés non loin de là.
La valorisation du patrimoine et son entretien a un coût.

Basilique Saint-Just is located in Valcabrére, a little town close to Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, in French Pyrenees Region. It is a very nice building with a graveyard. In fact the full complex is very romantic. It was built in 11-12th Centuries in a Romanesque-style. Really, if you visit Saint-Bertrand, is very recommendable come to here (only 1 km far from this town).

Faire payer l'endroit pour ne rien voir ..... les visiteurs peuvent bénéficier d'une vue magnifique sur les la cathédrale de Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges située dans les hauteurs.C'est tout ....
Continuer vote chemin !!!! Et pourtant, nous aimons visiter les édifices religieux.

Il serait dommage de venir à Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges sans effectuer le crochet qui permet de découvrir cette basilique au milieu du cimetière. Le portail est très beau. A l’intérieur de nombreux réemplois de matériaux antiques, notamment un chapiteau comme bénitier et plusieurs colonnes.

Spersa nella campagna francese, questa piccola pieve merita assolutamente una sosta. Il portale d'ingresso è un piccolo capolavoro e all'interno la sua semplicità costruttiva la fa fa da padrona. Ingresso a pagamento, audioguida disponibile in italiano ma, forse un po' troppo prolissa.

As I have mentioned in other reviews, my husband and I are history and UNESCO World Heritage Site nerds. We learned that there were three such sites within 10 minutes of our local grocery store, we had to visit. It is worth the €4 per person admission price.
The church is located in the very small village of Valcabrère. To borrow the description from the Haute Garonne's tourism site, "Near Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, this Roman 12th Century church is one of the most beautiful churches in the Pyrenees and was built with numerous reused Gallo-Roman sculpted elements. It has a beautiful sculpted door and a square bell tower from the 14th Century." The reused elements are evident throughout this very sparsely decorated church, allowing you to fully appreciate its history. Lighting is also minimal but adds to the experience. The church is on the Santiago-de-Compostela route.
Visitors receive a laminated card with pictures of the points of interest and an audio guide pen that provides a description for each picture. Multiple languages are available.
I would also recommend visiting Saint-Bertrand (5 minute drive) and the ruins at La Basilique Christien as part of your visit.

A ne pas surtout oublier lorsque l on est a Saint Bertrand. Tout d abord pour la photo a faire avec la cathédrale Ste marie au loin. L intérieur est sobre mais bourré de détails ( avec l audioguide on comprend tout). Pas mal de réemploi gallo-romains dans la construction. Chaque année le festival du Comminges organise des concerts en juillet et Aout ( se renseigner)

Magnifique petite basilique romane. Elle est austère maintenant mais on y voit par endroit des restants de peintures murales et le batiment comporte beaucoup de réemploi de l'époque romaine.
Visite interessante avec l'audioguide. Il est aussi possible de visiter d'abord Saint Bertrant puis Saint just et de bénéficier d'un tarif réduit. (l'ensemble est gratuit pour les enfants de moins de 12 ans)

c'est un exemple de l'art roman dépouillé de toute fioriture. Le tympan du proche est remarquable, soutenu par les deux piliers avec leurs quatre statues, dont st Just. A l'intérieur , le cénotaphe de st Just et sa statue en bois valent la visite. A l'extérieur on respire le bon air et le silence
