The Boylston Provincial Park picnic area is a great place to stop for a short walk around a quiet little island. An easy, short walk perfect for families.

We were very pleased with the campground and facilities. Unserviced sites but we didn't mind. Site #35 is the only one with lake access. Beautiful lake to birdswatch, kayak and fish. The new bathouse is fabulous with 3 private shower/washrooms. Sparkling clean. WiFi at the registration / bathouse is pretty good. Loved this campground. Beautiful Guysborough right down the road

Boylston Park has two distinct visiting areas. One is a picnic area on the shore side of the highway which is always a nice stop. The other is a campsite and viewing area up a hill on the other side of the highway. We had visited the viewing area several years ago and had a fantastic view of Chedabucto Bay. Now the park area is still well maintained, but the view is so diminished by tree growth on a neighboring property that is hardly worth the drive up the hill. There is still a view of the tail end of the bay, and there is an interesting monument,

the park is nice, but the horse flies are terrible. They don;t usually bother me, but this was too much.

The Park is well groomed and kept immaculately clean. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive up the hill, and several stops to just admire the view and the scenery of the area.

Our family goes there for day trips and picnics. Beautiful walking trails that lead to a small island Via a picturesque wooden bridge. Wonderful photo opportunities. There are picnic tables and shelters. very well maintained

Driving in, we noticed a finely manicured property. We asked about a tent spot and the gentleman running the place (a very nice and helpful fellow) told us to look around as there were plenty of sites. While they all looked private and suitable, only a few had a great view. We found a nice one, registered by phone, which we thought odd as the guy at the site was right there, and drove up saying to ourselves, " I wonder why there aren't really very many campers here?" Obviously, a fire ban for all of Nova Scotia probably hurt business, but as we set up, it hit us.........the mosquitos love this place. We spent the night/ inside our tent rather than enjoy the valley view.

Site 35 is a fantastic site right on the lake, highly recommend everyone to try and get this site if you plan to stay :)

I walk this park almost daily (even when it's closed for the winter). Beautiful for everybody especially dogs, kids, and seniors. Walk the beach around the island after crossing the boardwalk or walk the path...just watch out for a few stumps around the back side of the island. It only take 15-20 minutes on an easy walk speed. Take your time and enjoy the sweet smells of the forest or the salt water air.

This park is short on facilities but I've given it a VG rating all the same because it is secluded and quiet and more on the rustic side of camping with great pitches.
