Blessed subterranean escape from the desert heat!

Since its rediscovery, the Pearl Channel has undergone a transformation to create a major tourist attraction site. Located in the heart of Torreón’s historic center, it is one of the favorite places for visitors to cool off from the desert heat & go for some underground exploring. It has 4 access points:
1) Rodriguez and Hidalgo
2) Esplanade of Cepeda Street between Juárez and Hidalgo
3) Valdés Carrillo and Juárez
4) Zaragoza and Morelos
I entered just a few steps from around the corner of Museo Arocena (at #3: Valdés Carrillo & Juárez). There are 4 showrooms below in these canals and it’s truly a nice museum. I was very grateful that I took the time to come here for 1 hour. It was created around 1891 and came into operation in 1893, to be used as an irrigation canal that carried water from the Nazas River to the east of the city of Torreón. The Canal de la Perla is named after the Hacienda la Perla, which belonged to Feliciano Cobian, who was dedicated to growing cotton in the region. This irrigation canal was an arm of the Torreón Canal which, together with the La Concha Canal, took its flow from the Nazas River. Again, this is a very nice preserved site of Torreon’s history & well worth a visit.

Túnel para caminar

Es un túnel largo, de varias cuadras. El espacio es bonito y limpio. Hay unos pocos cuadros en las paredes y unas salitas con muestras específicas (por ejemplo una sobre la compañía Lala). Nada extraordinario, pero al menos es un espacio para dar una agradable caminata a salvo del calor de Torreón. Entrada libre.

Para visitar en compañía de la familia en el centro de torreón obligado con mucha historia entrada por varias partes del centro subterráneo y místico con historias verídicas y mucha información es gratuito no dejes de visitarlo además cuenta con mucha seguridad

Canal subterráneo debajo del centro de la ciudad de Torreón, Coahuila.

Restaurado, seguro y muy limpio. Aproximadamente cubre 4 cuadras debajo del centro de Torreón. Tiene muestras temporales de publicaciónes de principios del Siglo XX y una exposición comercial de la productora LALA de lácteos.

Es un antiguo canal que se abrió al público en la administración de Memo Anaya no tiene mucho que ver pero si estás en el centro en verano te refrescará y podrás salir al museo arocena o plaza de armas o bienna la calle Zaragoza enfrente del Banorte

El caminar por la comarca lagunera nos llevo a las "entrañas" de Torreón: "El Canal de la Perla" una boveda subterranea del siglo XIX que conducia agua del Río Nazas ...canal de riego para fertilizar tierras y tambien de leyendas...
La réplica expuesta del periódico del 21 de julio de 1923 anunciaba la muerte de Pancho Villa cumplió con el cometido de visitar un "Tunel del tiempo"...
