This was so much fun. It only cost $20.00 for 20 minutes. The fish tickled and it was just funny.
The owners scrub your feet very hard. Felt good after walking at the ruins. i can cross this off mu bicket list.

Do not use your debit card!! I asked about the conversion from pesos to American dollars and the girls rude response was my boss charges $21 pesos to every $1. Ended up getting charged $47 to my debit card. Fun 1 time experience but to get ripped off no thank you! Oh and you can not tell 1 bit of difference when your feet come out.

Off the ship for a day of shopping, watching dolphins, and... fish eating dead skin off people's feet?? The fish spa seems like a clean "professional" place where you can have small fish eat the dead skin off your feet. Watching the people first is interesting. Most liked it. Tried it myself. First your feet are washed and scrubed to an inch of their lives. Then you feet are placed in tanks with small fish that nibble on your feet for about 20-30 minutes. Feels funny at first. A little tickly. After yo finish and dry your feet the feel ver smooth. Try it. You just may like it.

Fun experience. I was expecting my feet to feel smoother afterwards than they did. While I enjoyed my experience, I doubt I would feel the need to do it again.

I first found the Fish Spa here on TripAdvisor. On my last cruise, we stopped in Costa Maya and I got my chance.

The place was very popular. I counted over 20 "tanks" and someone's feet were in every one. At $20/20 minutes, this place is generating $1200 per hour!

After they scrub your feet and legs up to your knees, you put your feet in the water and the little fish start nibbling on any dead skin. My fish didn't like when people walked by and they would swim and hide.

The feeling is a bit unusual. I likened it to a TENS device on a very low setting.

$20 for 20 minutes was great. I'd probably do it again.

Tickles, but really neat experience

Husband and I have wanted to try and found Fish Spa while exploring cruise port area. Really glad we tried it. Would even do this again! They scrub your feet (really scrub them), then in the water they go. You will be surprised at how soft your feet are when they are done. The fish to be pretty well-mannered, so it only tickles a bit. Part of the entertainment is watching other people experience this for the first time.

i was at the end of my port visit when i came across the Fish Spa. i asked a couple of women with their feet in the water how they were enjoying the experience. i had heard about these fish spa but never seen one before. the ladies both enjoyed the fish spa and said their feet felt like a baby's bum. my feet were pretty bad; very dry and peeling. the ladies gave me extra time i think because there were so bad. the fish ate their bellies full and when i left my feet were still in need of servicing but i do say they were much better than when i first put my feet in the water. the fish nibbling at the my feet just felt like tickling. i would recommend doing this even if just one time.

sit next to the water having lunch is great. Geared towards tourist, not truly local fair or pricing. get a better deal going into town and getting authentic local flavors beachside. good if you don't have a lot of time.

Steer Clear of the Fish Spa

My family had a terrible experience at the Fish Spa earlier this week. We had about 10 minutes before an excursion we booked. The bleach blonde woman (appeared to be the manager) asked my wife and son if they wanted to "sample" the fish spa experience. My wife said to her we only had a short period to try it it out but agreed to let my son try it out for a few minutes. My wife told her we would come back later in the afternoon when we had more time if he liked the experience. They spent about 5 minutes cleaning his feet, and by the time he got one foot in the water we needed to leave for our excursion. The manager came over and insisted we pay the full price ($20) and accused my wife of lying - saying that she had, in fact, understood they were going to do a 20 minute procedure. Both my son and wife heard her say it was only going to be a short sample. She was argumentative and rude. I paid her the $20 as we needed to leave. I think some of the issue may have been language-based (English/Spanish), and I could have worked with that...but her rudeness was inexcusable.
