I have wanted to visit the Model Village for some years and finally got the opportunity yesterday. I am very pleased to say I was not disappointed. A very well laid out demonstration of a model village, integrated with a model railway system, of epic proportions. Fabulous, if you like model railways (as I do) and stupendous if you like model villages as well. Very well laid out. Beautifully presented and well cared for exhibits. A fantastic morning’s visit.
If you are the same as my wife and I, visit the model village during the week, when the kids are back to school.
In doing that, you as OAP, can jump up and down with enthusiasm and enjoyment, without getting embarrassed. We understand, where kids would look at you with a sideways glance. (You know what I mean 😉😉)

We had a toddler in our group who loved spying the little train, the funfair and the circus. The village is set at a level so that even toddlers can see the buildings. The toddler especially enjoyed jigging to the music of the Morris dancers. There are lots of details like shop signs and the archaeology dig that appeal to the adults. After exploring the village we enjoyed a ride on a large train whose cost is additional to the ticket to the village. As the schools had gone back it was not very busy. There are baby changing facilities, toilets and a basic cafe for a sandwich and cup of tea. It is very family friendly. There didn't seem to be a place to leave pushchairs so the little paths did get a bit crowded. We will definitely return.

My grandchildren ( ages 6 and 9) just love Bekonscot model village and always ask to go. It is the best it’s ever been this year. Lots of refurbished houses, new roofs, flowers - always something new to spot. We always take a picnic and buy drinks and ice creams. We didn’t really get the feeling we had shrunk and were living in the village. Rather a waste of space. I agree the play park needs to be expanded and updated. Still a good day out

A nice place to visit with children. Not too busy, clean and entertaining for the younger ones. My children loved the train ride and ice creams!

I have been here several times over the years , and it is great for all ages . There is lots to look at and is fascinating to see everything.
It is well maintained , although the play area could be slightly better. It looked a bit run down and needed more seating.
One moan was the cafe. It was overpriced and the food had obviously been pre cooked and then stuck in the microwave, as it was ready in 2 minutes. Not the best food for the price.
All in all though , it was an enjoyable experience , and there was free parking across the road

Visited here as had watched Susan Calman on TV here a while back. The attention to detail is amazing and the buildings/figures are kept in tip top condition. The plants and foliage also very pretty, everyone working very hard to keep this model village looking stunning. Visited during school holidays so expected children but probably not quite as many so best to get there early if you have no children, most well behaved but was nearly knocked over at times by excitement, however nice to see them enjoying themselves. A little overpriced but on talking to the lovely ladies in the car park realised they do a lot for local charities which is nice to hear. Didn't eat at the cafe so cannot comment.

Beautifully reconstructed miniatures. Not too crowded either. Friendly staff. Good value. Recommended for 2-12 & 60+ year old.

Very wet visit. This is our grandson’s favourite place, he loves to watch the trains as they circumvent the site. As adults we enjoy the clever names of the shops and the other buildings. We were there on probably the worst day of the month so far. It was very wet but we were dreassed for the weather.

The model village itself it’s lovely, well kept and lots of detail to see. The little trains and cable cars in between the models were brilliant.
Its nice for a place to walk around for a couple
Of hours, however since my last visit 5 years ago you now have to pay for the little train. Having paid £32 to get in and then straight away another £6 on the train (1.50 each) thought it was a bit steep and as it’s the first attraction the children see it can’t be avoided! The other star I’ve taken off for the tea room, the choice of food was not enough and the prices for half a sandwhich (£2.70) was ridiculous. Good for a couple of hours out but def take a lunch.

I know everyone has mentioned it’s wheelchair friendly. However can the wheelchairs go on the ‘ride on’ train ride? My sister loves steam trains and whilst she’ll be happy about the models there’s no point in going if she can’t go on the train. Thank you for your help in advance! :)

No but Our Mum who is 93 managed to leave her wheelchair to ride on it as it is level with the ground and she could sit on the Have her leg lifted over. Only a very short track but she loved every minute

It’s usually good for at least 2-4 hours: depends on the ages of children you take, whether you read all the bad puns on the little shops, whether you do any of the additional activities.
Last time we were there, we had lunch at the cafe, kids played on the playground, there was a WW2 hands-on artefact exhibition in the little hut. Went in at 10.30 and left at 3pm.

Hi , i am planning a visit to beaconsfield village on 27th may sunday with my 1.5 years old son and hubby.
After checking the reviews , i guess my son will love this place.
Wanted to know where can i get the ticket?
Planning to take hauck buggy, do we need to store the buggy somewhere before we start ?
An we bring food and mat from home and have a picnic there?
Is there anything nearby what we cover ?

There are picnic tables on a small grassed area and a cafe. There is room to keep your buggy with you around the village. There is also a good play area.

Went today, there was a lady with a mobility scooter there. It was a small one mind & it was very busy. Could be a little difficult on the narrow bits but she managed fine. Plus she was smiling all the way round. Go and enjoy it you'll have a fab time xxx
