A lovely little market house. With some interesting things to read once inside. The village surrounding the market house is beautiful and idyllic. it’s not the kind of place you come to for more than half an hour at the most but worth a visit if in the area and wanting to check it of your National Trust visit list!

NT property which is off the beaten track in a small village. No entry fee even if not a member.
Quite a bit of local history covering mining in the locality.
Not a lot to see so only a short visit required.
Very little in the locality on a Monday, pub closed and only one shop appeared to be open.

What a pity that this fine historic building, the centre piece of this charming village is regularly obscured by a Land Rover parked in front of it. I suspect said Land Rover is the property of the National Trust who are supposed to be preserving and presenting the building for view. I know parking in Winster is limited but.....

Some interesting info on Winster if you happen to be passing but not worth diverting to. A fascinating village with lots of history.

The Winster Market house is in the middle of the most picturesque village. The house itself is not particularly interesting. It is a small building with one room on the first floor that had a few displays covering the history of the village, it’s school and lead mining. There is not a great deal to see. My recommendation would be only to visit if you are very close by; it is not worth making a special trip to see the house.

After travelling a long way, it was no more than an old place with one room upstairs. Northing inside except for a notice board. It is unmanned and free to visit. It seemed more like a meeting place for youngsters, who were busy playing inside, no parents to be seen.

This is a lovely village with a lovely sloping green and pond. We were there to see the frogs spawning. Staying in the fabulous Winster Hall - lots of gorgeous accommodation for a biggish party/family. Don;t miss the Winster Market hall and village model - both delightful!

If you want to know about the village of winster it's worth visiting this place. The building itself is stooped in history.

Interesting exhibit on the history of Winster. Good for a diverting 10 minute stop off if you're staying in Winster or travelling through, but not worth a detour
