Such a great tour. It helps if you have a 4WD and a UHF, but Roberta said they could lend us a UHF if needed. Peter drove around the property, talking on the UHF, then stopped in places to tell us about the sites. We followed in our own vehicles. Sounds simple, is simple - and thoroughly interesting and enjoyable. Morning tea on the verandah was also an enjoyable discussion, with excellent home made yummies. Peter asked as many questions of us as we did of him - maybe more, even. It meant we all had a great chat about what he knew, what we knew and (in a great way) how things are changing. Peter & Roberta have a really great way with people, friendly and welcoming. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like away from the bitumen bits up this way, you really should book in.

I had taken this tour before but this time my wife accompanied me. She just raved about how interesting the tour of the property was. As there were only two of us we travelled with Peter in his 4wd. Peter and Roberta are so hospitable. Instead of morning tea in the shearing shed we had it on the verandah of their home.

Peter and Roberta were great hosts and showed us around this sheep and cattle and goat property, great informative tour with Peter , and lovely morning tea and tour of the sheep shearing shed with Roberta

Property is only 20 mins out of town (heading south from Barcaldine)
Entrance to property is at end of the bitumen after the grid.
Roberta and Peter (4th generation) showed us around the property. It is looking fantastic after recent rains across the region (they usually miss out, despite forecasts)!
Learning how this property operates with sheep, cattle and goats.
Both are so very knowledgeable in regards to the land on which they live.
Loved Bunnings and the shearing shed.
Sorry we missed the 6th generation on the day we visited.
Can strongly recommend the Tag along tour and support local farmers.
The biscuits are "to die for!"

All we have to say is we meet Paul and Alli and George and Harry and had a tour of their amazing land and it was more than amazing to see the property and history and the lovely family heritage

Cattle and kangaroos, emus and brolgas and a bower bird in its bower; tour led by Paul with interesting facts about sheep/cattle station life included tour of the shearing shed, feeding lambs and a delicious smoko. Thanks Paul and family!

It was amazing to have Peter Doneley give us so much interesting information of Dunraven Station.
We heard about the running of the station and how they have managed drought, wild dogs etc . He pointed out so many things of natural interest and the different trees ,bushes and grasses. It was also a pleasure to meet wife Roberta,their son Paul and his wife Ali plus baby Harry , elder son George was at daycare whilst we enjoyed the wonderful morning tea provided by Roberta .
We then visited the historic shearing shed, a guided tour and the shed history with Roberta.
We were also lucky enough to see them drafting sheep in the bugle yards in readiness for trucking out tomorrow.
A very interesting half day, brief experience of life on their family property,that we enjoyed so much .
Thank you for sharing with us.
Highly recommend this tour of Dunraven.

We enjoyed hearing about life on a station out here near Barcaldine. We heard about the fences. Dingos. Sheep and cattle. The good times snd hard times.
All very interesting. And reasonable cost.

We had the pleasure of meeting the Doneley family on their Tag Along Tour exploring their vast property just outside of Barcaldine. Being from the city and having absolutely no idea about property life, this unique opportunity allowed us to understand a little more about our rural Australians and their love of life as farmers as well as the challenges they face. Peter was so knowledgeable as well as being a bit of a character with Roberta’s smoko being a perfect end to our morning adventure. I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area, to take advantage of the Doneley hospitality and meet such a lovely family.
