Fantastic experience. Knowing it wasn't guaranteed we'd see platypus we were so lucky to see 3 while we were there, the first within about 3 mins. The host, Donna, was so lovely and interested in us and our travels. Had lunch there after the platypus viewing, the food was amazing. So worth the visit

Awesome little spot, well worth the beautiful roady from Cairns. Donna was great, very friendly and great service.
Spotted 3 platypus while we were there, so cool to see these little guys in their natural environment!
Cafe has a great, laid back country vibe, the beer and cider were delicious and ice cold, and seriously, I had the best hot dog I’ve ever had.

The park was good and we did saw platypus, obtained good advice from the lady there. The place is not well kept and not particularly well setup.

We finally found this spot after a few challenges with google maps. Sorry to say we were disappointed. The venue is extremely run down. We had read reviews about the fabulous tasting menu, but unfortunately it appears this option is only available to tour groups. Staff were pleasant and the Barra burger we ended up ordering was good, just not what we had hoped to be eating. Platypus viewing was not promoted. We were short for time and so ate and left.

What a wonderful lunch, we did a Brett’s food tour today and our lunch time spot was Tazali Platypus Park. The food was amazing !!!! And on top of this we saw a platypus in the wild. 10/10

カモノハシが住み着いているダムに案内してもらい、野生のカモノハシウォッチングをしました。すぐ見れました。感動！幸せの青い蝶々ユリシスが数匹飛んでいてこちらにも感動しました。カフェの手作りのBLTバーガーもおいしかったです。

we got to see a rare blue butterfly and we saw one platypus swimming through the water. The staff were helpful and very kind. We also ate at the cafe and the BLT burger was amazing!!

lovely walk and it was easy to see the platypus's. got so many photos and everyone we saw shares where they saw one.

We stopped here for lunch. Did not chose to pay to walk the grounds to view platypus. Menu was along the lines of burgers but they do cater for gluten free quite well. The food was good but a little on the expensive side.

Having the serving people stop to draw breath from their conversations with each other would be a reeeeeaaaally good start. We visited on a fine Friday afternoon, during the Lunch session and there were very few customers about. Getting the attention of the staff should have been easy... Now I think I understand why there were so few customers!
I had actually been attracted to the place on the promise of their smoked goods, which have been publicised locally for quite some time now, but not only could I not smell or see them, I couldn't get any answers.

You are welcome anytime between 9am and 4pm.
Platypus viewing takes place every half hour. Our ranger, Garth will take you to the platypus lake and tell you about the platypus.

What is the easiest way to get to the Park and lakes from Cairns (we will be staying at the Rydges Tradewinds) by public transport?

We are located on the southern part of the Atherton Tablelands, betwenn Milla Milla and Malanda.
Unfortunately we are not reachable by public transport and it would be best to contact various tour operators to see if they do a tour that includes stopping at the park, or hire a car for a day and enjoy a self drive tour of the tablelands.
I personally recommend the Hire Car option and the self drive tour with going up the Kuranda, Gillies (from Cairns) or Palmerston (from Innisfail) range roads, touring the tablelands, stopping with us for lunch and to see the Platypus before returning to Cairns via one or the other range roads.
