What an absolute blast, this place was awesome! The whole place was fascinating with non-stop "wow that's so cool" comments! It wasn't cool in temperature so be prepared when outside.
The tours are brilliant and we did two one of which was the lab tour. Absolutely amazing again! Loved this place.

We didn't have time to do the tours on the day we visited but I'm assured that what ever you decide to do it would be well worth it.
Very well set up place.
We walked around the rim to one exhibit and the tracks and exhibits we could see from the track were awesome.
Best long drop toilet I've ever been too lol
Could get very hot here so take plenty of water.
Reasonably priced tours and something for everyone.
I heard there's an observatory on site too as the night sky is fantastic out here.

$210 total for family of 4 (2A 2C) for the full experience tour which includes everything including the laboratory, preparation, cinema room and shuttle bus to the dinosaur canyon.
We booked the first tour of the day which kept us busy until just after lunch. We could have stayed all day so the family ticket which is discounted by $40 offers good value for money I think.
Everyone enjoyed it and there is something for all ages.
Staff were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the whole dinosaur and fossil experience.
Would recommend.

Went there with 2 young kids (5 and 2), was a bit hesitated to find out from there website and brochure that they only do 4 hrs guided tour.
Went there to check it out anyway，when we are there，they actually offered partial tour which us more suitable for family with young kids.

I booked in advance for me and my husband. I'm glad, because I got the tours that I wanted. There were big queues on the day that I went, so some people weren't so lucky.
Unfortunately, my husband was sick on the day, so I went on my own. It was very interesting and well presented. The views from the cafe were very pleasant. The whole experience made for an enjoyable and interesting day out

This place was brilliant. Well worth going to if only for the incredible views! Same people also run Larks Quarry which is way out further so this is much more accessible. Great seeing details about life 95million year ago and knowing that our planet perpetually is changing. Was fascinating hearing about Matilda and Banjo and seeing their actual bones - not replicas. They also do a dark sky star gazing which would be awesome to do - maybe next trip!

The tour guide and information centre definitely loved showing us the exhibits. This exhibition is fantastic. Luke the cart driver and John the tour director were so friendly and welcoming. They are a great team, including registration and catering. The exhibition facilities are incredible. Best of all the dinosaurs a great exhibit for young and old. I am definitely going back - loving the outback too. Winton is a great time must go to the Royal Theatre too

We choose to do the 3 tours, Canyon and March of the Dinosaurs, the Fossil Laboratory and Collection Room. There is a cafe on site and plenty of parking and time between tours to grab a snack or bring your own. We enjoyed the 3 tours and learn't so much about the dinosaur trail in Queensland and how they were discovered. Do the Fossil laboratory you can chat to the volunteers who are working on the fossils that are found during the digs. A very informative 4 hours. We chose to do all 3 rather than drive out to Lark Quarry but you can just choose what you want to see and do especially if you have kids.

We specifically went to this part of Queensland for the dinosaurs and it didn't dissapoint.
We loved it and learned a lot.
Great to see the enhusiastic volunteers telling their stories.
Lots of work to do to unravel the rest of the collection.

We found this tour to be very interesting. The tour was 1.5 hrs. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. It really is wonderful how they moved the creek bed and now can be viewed by the public. Didn’t have the time for the other tour but certainly worth a visit.

Hi all! I know a question has been asked about this a year ago but just wondering if the dog kennels at Age of Dinosaurs are safe for a small fluffy dog? If not, does anyone know anyone in Winton that does casual dog sitting?

Hello, we're visiting in early June, and were wondering what the road out to the museum was like (Dinosaur Way). I know it's gravel, but is it an easy road to traverse, or a bit tricky. We have a small SUV vehicle. Thanks for any help or insight 😃

Age of Dinosaurs is an easy drive on bitumen road but I think you might be enquiring about Lark Quarry -Dinosaur Stampede that road is different there is a lot of gravel road. When we travelled in September last year it was in good condition. Your small SUV would still be ok to travel on that road however if there has been a lot of rain the road gets to be a little trickier but if you are at all concerned ring Lark Quarry because staff travel that road regularly & they could give you a more up to date road condition.

You need to look up the Age of Dinosaurs website and then phone them. You would certainly not be able to leave a dog in a car out there as it would be too hot and the experience involves a number of tours that you need to book prior to going there. I know that bookings are very heavy out at Winton at present, so I would advise any travellers to book everything well ahead. It is certainly not a museum that you can just rock up to and wander around on your own.

I advise people to take a tour. You can go on your own but you would not really see anything. There is a tour which takes in all three places and well worth it. They are all fascinating places and full of interesting facts about the Dinosaurs.
We just went on the Age of Dinosaurs 🦖 it was brilliant.
We booked at the pub in the centre of the Main Street. We were the only two people to book so they took us in a four wheel drive instead of the tour bus and the driver waited for us, he didn’t rush us when we were ready he took us back to town What a Great service.

We went by train first class, there was a special deal, 2 for one, this was in January. We enjoyed it immensely. Bus was waiting in Longreach and dropped us off at the motel. Local pub owner dropped us off at the Dinosaur park and picked us up again when we were finished. Make a few phone calls and ask the accommodation if they can do this for you. Good luck
