We came to Vigna Bottin for pre Christmas lunch & enjoyed a tasting beforehand. The cost of the meal seemed a little expensive for the type of home cooked food. The food was pleasant, not special & there were no potatoes on the shared seafood main, instead a few undressed salad leaves . The cannolis at the end of the meal were soggy & not the crisp version’s we were anticipating. When we commented at the end of the meal were told they would inform the chef! Not good enough methinks! The cost of the tasting was included in the final price despite other reviews stating that by buying a bottle & staying for a meal it was waived! Not so in our case! Overall a pricey average lunch for shared main & entree. The dessert disappointing & @ $199 not great value for money!

We booked for Sunday lunch as we just felt like some Italian. What a surprise! We were warmly greeted and sat down at a set table for a tasting. Overall the wine was very good but we really enjoyed the Italian style Prosecco and the Shiraz. We normally would not drink Prosecco. We were then taken to our lunch table. The Italian food was excellent. We shared a salad Caprese and pasta. Everything was well presented and tasty. Lunch, desert, coffee and a bottle of Shiraz for the two of us came to just over $160. Great value!

This lovely winery offers a very good selection of Italian grape varieties and the quality of the wines is excellent. The food menu is great offering authentic Italian dishes just like Nona used to make and the prices are quite reasonable too. We ordered the meatballs to start with and they were delicious. Next we ordered the Orecchiette Calabrese with Italian sausage, broccoli, pancetta, cream and a hint of chilli. OMG it was to die for! The Risotto Mare with prawns, calamari, mussels and cockles was also very good. We absolutely love this place and Vigna Bottin is definitely now one of our favourite dining places. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent, very prompt and efficient. Can't wait to come back again soon and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

I am a local and this is my new favourite place! The food was not overdone, service exceptional and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Can’t wait for summer for a Friday night treat in the courtyard.

WOW WOW.What a great find. We started with the wine tasting .the staff talked about the wine ,grapes,very interesting.Great little cheese platter in the $10 sampling charge. Got the 10 dollars taken of wine when purchased. The menu is very rustic Italian every nonna would feed you with.fanrastic ambiance, great staff.Fantastic food and wine.Definately will be back

This lovely winery boasts a selection of Italian wines as well as a great dining experience in an Italian style setting. The Italian influenced menu was great and they catered well for dietary requirements. A slice of Italy in the McLaren Vale region.

I came across this name in a local 'coffee table book' and having not been to Willunga, chose VB for a tasting and lunch. The tasting was relaxed and informative, well hosted by Laurie. Lunch in the 'shed' was home style Italian food, very well done with friendly service. A genuine interest was also taken in our experience by one of the owners and senior staff, who stopped by for a chat. We didn't taste the premium wines (next time) but enjoyed the majority of the entry level wines and will certainly purchase in the future. Overall a very pleasant Sunday afternoon and we will be back.

We had a great lunch here the other day. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, the setting is gorgeous and the food was great.
We started with a wine tasting- excellent Italian grape varieties and some particularly good reds. The Prosecco ( imported) was also really nice . Our tasting waiter was great, very informative and interesting . We stayed for lunch , so the $10 tasting fee was waived.
All our food was really good, and the service very friendly and helpful. We shared everything- highlights being the cannelloni, Arancini and the meatballs , with standout roast potatoes !
Prices are very reasonable as well.
Thanks for a lovely day Maria, Millie , Oscar and all the staff ( sorry, I’ve forgotten some names). The celebration bubbles were also much appreciated.

Real home style Italian fare at very reasonable prices. Staff were very attentive but not obtrusive. The meatballs and the lamb shoulder were delicious and the bread was very nice. We did a seated tasting before eating, and you need to allow some time for this as there were 5 wines to try. We liked the Prosecco and the Sangiovese best of all, but all were good. As McLaren Vale locals we can certainly recommend this place for a great lunch.
