The workmanship of 11th/12th Century is to be seen to believe. The craftsmanship of pillars, each different from other is to be seen. The ornaments on every statue is disticnt.

A must visit , read about it on social media and found it much more mesmerising. carving all around temples is so good.

Calm, peaceful.
Not as elaborate as Hoysaleshwara but still worth a visit.
I saw all of 3 people around here. Carry your own water with you since I did not see any kiosks around the temple.

Belur is amazing and well worth a visit as the carving is wonderful. It ranks with place like Angkor Was and should be on more itineraries. Halebid is more inside detail and choose the former if pressed for time

Un temple Jain de toute beauté. Les sculptures sont éblouissantes. Le temple est assez petit mais une multitudes de sculptures toutes plus fines et belles les unes que les autres. Aucun n'est semblable.

Halabid temple was lovely. We arrived early morning and it was nice and quiet. Wonderful carvings. Close to the river, nice grounds.Belur temple is a bigger complex, but again a beautiful temple with detailed carvings.

It's not a huge site - but it's beautiful, and you'll probably get it all to yourself! Take a walk around the village, and also visit another, almost overgrown ruin too.

An impressive well maintained site, well worth a visit just to look at the sculptures, is not on the main tourist trail such is the richness of antiquities in the local area.

This temple is just over a kilometre from famous halebeedu hoysaleswara temple. It is having many sculptures at its own right. Good place to visit if you have some time after seeing halebeedu temple. You can also see a jain basadi enroute to this temple. Parking is limited, but ok, as not many visits this temple.

Just a few yards from the Jain Shrines in Halebidu and on the bank of a big lake lies another masterpiece of Chalukya Architecture and adopted by Hoysala’s. Soap stone has been used as construction material. The temple stands on a terrace of 5-6ft height. This platform provides a walkway so that visitors can have a close view and admire the carvings and sculpture adorning the wall. The temple has three shrines and presents both Shaiv and Vaishnav sect of Hindu religion. Evidently ornated interior has no idol to grace the temple for worshiping. Ceilings are sunken and intricately carved along with supporting pillars. On the outer wall one can appreciate:
Bhairava, Dancing Shiv with drum,
Krishna lifting Govardan hill
Vishnu
Shiv and Parvati riding Nandi—beautifully ornated
Brahma
Dancing ladies some with drum
Ravan lifting Kailash
Nataraj
Mahisasur Mardini
Men Drummer

Fighting Lady Warriors, Scenes from Mhabharat and Ramayan, Mythical Swans, [panel]

The temple lack proper maintenance and is open from sunrise to sunset only and needs 2-3 hrs for even a quick look.
