Remove the dreadful stressful car parking payment system. Was a lovely place to go to, but no more along with many other people. Paying at the machine is very difficult and can easily end with a £100 from some faceless Company who cannot believe their luck I am sure to get the money making contract at this site. Plenty of other local places to visit who actually want you !!

Visited Knettishall Heath on Christmas Eve with a friend. She paid for two hours and we exited well within that time. No signal for WiFi so paid by card, which is not easy !!! Several days later I got a fine notice from Minster Baywatch, pay now £60 or £100 if over the time limit.
I wrote to them enclosing a copy of the payment from my friends bank statement , but M B would have none of it .....I asked if they could check if a car with my [ or near my reg. in case we had made a mistake when we entered it into the machine ] had entered and exited the Heath. NO was the reply . Consequently I have paid the £60 !
I am more than happy to pay parking fees at places such as this, as it all helps to maintain the area, many people park by side of the road and still use the facilities, Knettishall Heath should be looking into Minster Baywatch very closely as the amount of complaints on Trip Advisor is phenomanal.
I am immensely upset about this and shall think hard before visiting this lovely area
again.

This is a lovely place, a stop off for me on a long journey and a bonus to see a Spotted Flycatcher and other birds, and to be able to walk with my dog.
Unfortunately a massive sting in the tail when I received a parking ticket for £60, after trying my very best to pay, 20 minutes, failing due to poor signal.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust working hand in hand with celebrated parking scammers Minster Baywatch. I have now been issued with £155 parking "fine".On my visit I paid the required fee (punching in my registration) and have been issued with a Parking Charge Notice which has photographic evidence showing that I left inside one hour.The charge covers 2 hours.The PCN states that the charge "was not paid in full"
I have the transaction on my bank statement.
Shameful that Suffolk Wildlife Trust permits this scandalous scamming

Quiet outside school hols! and useful tree shaded areas during 2022 summer. Shallow river pool by bridge ideal for swimming and games.
If you can use the parking meter, ‘well done’ to you. One person I watched took 15 minutes to try to work it out - no mobile signal on their phone - and an extra 5 minutes with another visitor’s help ….. Those in the know park outside - but the roadway is narrow.

You have to pay for parking electronic but they can’t guarantee signal. We spent 20 mins attempting to pay and then gave up and left. We just got a parking ticket as a result. When I sought to complain, I found a disclaimer on their site saying they don’t deal with this issue, which tells me it likely happens a lot and I bet that’s how they make their funding. The staff saw us. They spoke to us. They could do nothing and knew we’d not left the immediate car park area. Absolutely disgusting

Dropped in to main car park to report an incident with the ponies. I was in the car park for around 5 minutes and thought that there would probably be a grace period for this type of short drop-in or times when no spaces are available. Failed to find info about grace periods on the Wildlife Trust’s or Branby Wilson’s websites. Tried to call the carpark operator; closed early afternoon on Fridays. Knowing from other reviews here that any contravention of the very complex parking rules would incur an incontestable £100 fine, I just paid up. HOWEVER, the charge for the minimum, two hour period is not £2 as shown on the Wildlife Trust’s website but 10% more for payment via the app or 15% more by phone.

As a regular visitor here for the past 26 years, I have become increasingly disillusioned by the mismanagement of this site by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
Last year they closed off the middle car park citing antisocial behaviour - which may well be the case, but interestingly it coincided with the main car park instigating charges of £2 for 2 hours so anyone wanting to walk their dog for 30 minutes was stuck with paying £2.
We also observed that the closure of the middle car park and the new car parking charges meant far fewer visitors - giving licence to the local youth to ride their motorbikes across the heath unchallenged - something we never witnessed when the car parks were open/free and probably the very kind of behaviour SWT were trying to stop!
In addition many people are now parking on the verge which is damaging the grass, causing an eyesore and creating road safety issues.
The latest move is that the Trustees have now introduced a policy that dogs should be kept on leads all year round - not just during the ground-nesting season.
When SWT were trying to raise money to allow them to take over the heath, I and many others remember them pledging that nothing would change. I wonder how those who supported them are feeling now?
It is starting to feel that SWT won't be happy until visitors are completely banned from the site. Shame on them.

a lovely walk ruined by a £100 parking ticket when I had paid and had proof. I managed to appeal with proof of payment via my bank and an email confirmation. Would not recommend to park here until they sort out this parking system as you can see by the other reviews that this is a common occurrence.

This was a lovely place for a walk and we had a very enjoyable time.
Unfortunately the following week I received a parking penalty notice for £100 from 'Minster Bay Watch'! I had paid for my parking using Ringo and fortunately had the receipt to prove this. I had to go through their appeals process and wait another week to be advised that my appeal had been accepted - very kind of them!
If you do visit then I would advise you to keep proof of payment for parking in case these cowboys come after you as well. It is a shame that Suffolk Wildlife Trust have got involved with them

You can,but I don't let mine off as she is a chocolate Lab and probably would be a nuisance and there are livestock in the area but are fenced in.
