Pop into the Holt tourist information office & pick up the info to get started with this fantastic & highly informative self guided tour of Holt. It’s so easy to follow & packed with lots of information about the place that we would definitely have missed out on if we hadn’t followed the trail.

Having read a few Tripadvisor reviews, we decided to give this a go as a way of entertaining the children round Holt. Once we got the hang of what we were looking for, it was quite easy to follow, although it was surprising how many shops were unaware of the trail.
Would recommend getting the guide from the tourist info office in Nelson House as it was much easier to read than the phone.
Took us about 30 mins in all.

This is a small Town Trail around nice Georgian Holt. ...there are lots of interesting little buildings and points of interest along the way. An idea other Towns should think to adopt. Gets you off the main drifts.

As the Tourist Information Office was closed, we followed the Owl Trail on a mobile phone. We learned so much about Holt, its buildings and its history having done the trail, as well as going up so many passages into 'yards' that we would not otherwise have noticed. In a hurry, the trail can be done in an hour, but better to spend longer and appreciate this lovely place even more.

The Holt Owl Trail is just great. It is a terrific idea to have plaques on the pavement that guide you around 24 different points of interest. Stop at the new Council Offices in historic Nelson House on White Lyon Street near the Owl Tea room and Adnams and pick up a guide book which will assist you around this Historic Georgian town. The booklet is current and up to date and it is easy to spot the points of interest. The text is informative but not too long full of facts and stories. Finish your walking tour with a trip to the bookshop in Appleyard where you can pick up a copy of Escapades in Holt: A fine Georgian Town and you can continue the fun following Olly the owl as he poetically explains even more about the town and its history.

Beginning to fade on the pavements but still worth walking around the town for. Follow the owls for yummy tea rooms, pubs, pretty places. Free, unless you submit to the call of a lush place to eat.

Lovely walk, well designed. Gives one a brief tour of the village along with history. Takes approximately 45 minutes or at your own pace. Highly recommend.

Clever little trail to walk you round the town while taking in the history and architecture. Easy to follow and we found a map on the wall at the entrance to the Albert Street car park. To do it justice I would allow a couple of hours.

This is a simple trail of owls on the pavement with little points of interest
Good to keep children busy. Holt is an incredibly quaint place with lots of lovely places to eat and drink, do the tour, have some lunch and peruse the shops!
