What an amazing place. Set in beautiful surroundings. The garden walk is lovely even on a cold February day! Cafe is warm and cosy. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Dogs welcome too. We loved watching the birds of the feeders. Could have stayed there all day.

Wonderful Cafe in the woods at Bayfield. Really great home cooked food and lovely friendly staff.
The cheese on toast is especially amazing!
Dog friendly and a wonderful setting watching the birds on the feeders.
Lovely gardens and shop.

Wonderful gardens, woodland and wildlife sanctuary with a trail through the woods to a bird hide with lovely views across the meadows. There is a great little cafe serving cheese on toast, paninis etc. We had butternut squash quiche with salad and coleslaw which was fantastic!! There’s also a nursery selling a huge range of plants. It’s a hidden gem in North Norfolk not to be missed!

A lovely location to spend a sunny spring afternoon. We loved all the different gardens (fee of £5.50 per adult, map supplied), and the human-size badger sett. The riverside bird hide was a great spot to see a kingfisher. Dogs are welcome, on a lead. Lots of other walks in the area if you want to make a day of it, including Bayfield Bird Walk, and a shorter walk to Glandford ford (ideal for a dog paddle). And shopping, too, at Cley Smokehouse, Cley Spy and Birdscapes.

I love this place plants are lovely and a reasonable price unlike garden centres
The cafe is lovely all food made on site and delicious great place to take children to learn about wild life plants flowers birds etc etc, just amazing place and I am lucky to have it on my doorstep I would highly recommend to all visiting Norfolk

This is a superbly peaceful place with paid access to a beautiful 5 acre wildflower experience. Really connects with nature and is good for the soul. Also, interesting shop and great café with outside eating in good weather. Dedicated parking.

We’ve been coming here since we moved to Norfolk 7 years ago and have always appreciated, if not downright loved the place. Cheese on the toast - the best in the land, good, healthy pots of tea and toasted tea cakes - plus you can watch the birds feasting on nuts and seeds while consuming the above. BUT something has changed - is it a victim of its own success? A reduced menu and cakes and savouries that wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny. The saddest thing of all are the staff - whom were always lovely (sometimes service was slow - but no one cared - it was done with a smile and this is just a little cafe after all) - now replaced by a rude, short- tempered older woman who should never be public facing due to clear lack of aptitude for the job. I can handle no cheese on toast past a certain time and no tea cakes because they had been busy, but I cannot handle rude, off-hand serving staff. Let’s hope she’s not there for long.

Do they still have Red Squirrels here?

We no longer have Red Squirrels. The last one died (of natural causes) around 2.5 years ago and we decided not to continue with the project, partly because the pair that we had inherited were not good at raising young, and partly because we felt that the animals were not really happy in captivity, even in our large, spacious woodland cage. We have, however, put the cage to good use, as it now contains a selection of species showing the 'darker side' of plants!
