Went on a seal boat trip with Temples Seal trips

A beautiful spot managed by the National Trust. Plenty of parking. Great views over the area. Well worth a visit

Parking can be expensive for those who are not National Trust members, but thankfully we are and getting there early is recommended as the car parks tend to get full quickly. There are various refreshment kiosks at either end of the walk but sadly very few offered anyhing gluten free other than crisps or the obligatory brownie, but that was okay as we weren't hungry anyway. The walk out towards the village is lovely and meandering with great views of the water - and doesn't actually rake that long. You can walk to Blakeney in well under an hour where there is quite a lot to see and some lovely pubs which do have gluten free food. During the winter months it is possible to do a boat trip to see the seal colomies but we were out of season and in any case I have seen seals dozens of times at various places around Britain. It makes a good day out nevertheless at any time of year.

We parked at Morston quay and took the signed-path toward Stiffkey. The path is muddy as it's at the waterline. The views out to Blakney Point were spectacular.

Take some food with you! There's very few places along the way for you to grab a bite to eat without paying through the nose. There's good parking which is free if you're a national trust member. The area has some lovely walking routes to go on which can take you as little or as long as you like.

National Trust so you know it isn't cheap.
Parking £6 (£6.10 app) all day - no other options.
There is a walk up along the Quay but it was very muddy and you will need walking boots or wellies.
Walks to Stiffkey or to Blackney on raised pathway with fields to the south and to the north of the path the salt marshes and inlets.
Ice cream scoops on site were tasty but a little on the wee side.

If birds, boats and wildlife is your thing, have a look at Morston, very different sort of place to your usual seaside resort. It covers a large area and not all accessible at the same time from the same area. Unfortunately the Café at Morston Quay was closed due to covid but you could get a take out

Great trip from Marston Quay. Boat was brilliant as were the crew. Harbour was very calm and trip through it very interesting. Views of seals and how close we got was great. Thoroughly recommend Beans Boats.

Beautiful area with plenty to do from taking a seal tour with one of the three seal trip companies that are offered or going for a walk with your dog along the foot paths.

The Blakeney Reserve is very large and has a number of small villages and tourist opportunities available. We had booked a seal trip withTemples Seal Trips. The boat was very safe, socially distanced and the driver was very knowledgable and found the best wildlife and birds for us. We also then walked from Morton Quay to Blakeney Point a good 45 minutes across the Marshes, offering great views and more wildlife opportunities. Excellent day out for everyone. Seal trips are tide dependent ad therefore booking in advance is required.

Hi. Which boat company has the nearest access for my elderly mother? She can walk with the help of a walker but is not able to go very far or very fast.

Hi, they run boat trips to the seals at Blakeney.
If you contact the Anchor Pub at Morston they organise the seal trips from there and may be able to offer transport to the boat.
You can get the tickets etc there.
It is a bit of a walk to quay.
It's also got an excellent restaurant in the pub and the chowder is excellent.
Also there's a brilliant duckpond at Blakeney.
If you want to dine in Blakeney I recommend the Blakeney Hotel.

We have booked a temple boat trip and will be parking at the nature reserve, is there toilet next to the car park we can use before getting on the boat?

Definitely yes, so you will be fine to use it before you get on the boat. There is a small cafe too.
