Some of the best public gardens anywhere

These gardens must rate amongst the finest of any public gardens anywhere in the UK. They are very well kept and full of colour. The gardens are to the south of the pier and are split into various themes such as a rose garden and a Mediterranean garden.

Tranquil place to stop, rest and reflect

The gardens are a lovely, tranquil place to relax, perhaps with an ice cream. My wife and I spent time here during the windy/cool weekend in mid June and there were some bits of debris about following heavy winds the day before but overall the gardens are well planted and tended. This was the first time we visited Clacton and weren't expecting something this lovely. The colours and smells were lovely too.

Not Impressed - Needs Work

The flowers are stunning but the statue needs a deep scrub. I was horrified to see it covered in bird feces. it’s majestic elegance is ruined by all the bird mess.
As you walk the path there are multiple gardens. The 1920s garden was brightly colored and fun but the rest of the gardens are bland, dull and need work. The sensory garden was just shrubs and grass. There was nothing to smell, nothing to touch. The Mediterranean garden is nothing but sand and some weird trees. The gazebos have peeled paint in most places and the Yacht pond featured massive water stains and no benches to sit and enjoy it. Was not impressed.

Themed sections have been imaginatively laid out for quiet, restful enjoyment for all age groups. The council seem to nurture the flower beds with civic pride - and the results speak for themselves!

Lovely garden. Lots of beautiful plants, flowers and trees. Nice seating areas to relax and enjoy the garden surrounding. I think they have done a great job. Best location to be reflective and remember all our love ones., and our wonderful heroes from the War. Nice cool areas to sit and relax

Always A Marvelous Display

The wonderful display of flowers and the care and attention given is a credit to all. Its a marvellous tribute from the people of Clacton to the sacrifice the fallen gave. I was told that its paid for by a contribution in the residents Council Tax. Its well worth a visit on your next trip to Clacton on Sea and can be found near the Pier.

Pure utterly breath taking gardens of a rainbow of colour with all the flowers they planted and mentained. A great tribute to those of Clacton who laid down their lives for freedom in WW1 & 2
