Great beers on tap. Love the ales. Good crisps. But it’s a crèche! Half the people were under 5 years old. Kids running about. Kids sitting on steps in front of bar. Kids singing. Kids playing piano. Parents ignoring them. Maybe I’ll try on a weeknight to see if any better

Spent a couple of evenings in here on a long weekend away. Very friendly staff, cosy and comfortable. A great selection of beers and ciders. The online ordering worked well and social distancing was adhered to. This place gets very busy, but there is plenty of seating available inside and out. Also dogs are welcome too.

Staff helpful. Sadly pizza poor
. Mighal was a really excellent chef at Lucca’s and we felt that perhaps he doesn’t have access to the same quality ingredients - which doesn’t do him justice. The BBQ chicken topping tasted as if it was supermarket processed fare.
I would suggest Mighal either returns to Lucca’s or another quality Pizzeria/authentic Italian where his employer and clients appreciate his experience and talent.
We left feeling very sad.
Pizza was left on the table and we weren’t asked for any feedback on our food.
The Red Lion is renowned for its quality beers and as a basic no frills

Hi Chilli Queens,
Thanks for your review, it’s a shame you feel that way as Michal is still an excellent chef with access to the finest frozen goodfellas pizzas from Tesco. He can even change the toppings if he wants!!!
In all seriousness though, sadly I find your review fairly ignorant to Michal’s wishes and his growing legendary status with the Stour valley client base. He is allowed to have complete creative control with pizzas and can choose from any suppliers locally and regionally.

Lovely outside courtyard and seating, a one way system working well, staff efficient and friendly. Booked table online and ordered pizzas from PizzaPlace next door. Just to say you have to pop round and collect your pizzas, in current conditions they don't deliver to you. Very tasty and a real bargain under the Eat out to Help out scheme!

And the pub was busy - as usual. No surprise as it’s friendly, comfortable, with good beer. But too cold to sit outside this visit!

We went there to have a drink outside in the garden, didn't disappoint. Lovely pub, lovely atmosphere and very friendly people. Would definitely recommend it xx

Another gem of an evening. Big thanks to Laura, Josie and Tom for organising the night and the comedians for all the larfs. We had a couple friends join us and they reckoned we are really lucky to have such a venue.

We visited here for lunch, sat down and went to the bar to ask for a food menu to be told they don’t offer food but you can go and get some food and bring it back and eat if there.
Nice little village pub on the inside with a nice beer garden.
We will probably revisit for a drink.

A fab evening doing the quiz with friends.. we were given a choice of tables having booked. We played scrabble whilst we waited for the quiz which was nice. The service was excellent. The strawberry gin was lovely however I would have liked a proper gin glass.
