Fantastic Experience!

Great way to get kids outside

I was looking to try something different with my son who is not really into sports and he wanted to try fishing. We booked for a half day and neither of us had ever fished before and we weren’t disappointed. Carl was a brilliant instructor especially with my son. He was extremely patient and obviously has a big passion for what he does. I will definitely be back and I urge anyone who is looking to try and find something to get their kids outside and into nature to give this course a go.

Thank you so much for such a lovely morning. We learnt so much and loved watching the boys faces catching their first fish. You both were so patient with us all and I now have a very happy birthday boy who’s addicted to fishing 🤣

Perfect way to spend an afternoon...

Carl is an excellent instructor: relaxed, knowledgeable, encouraging - and quickly gauges what each person is hoping to get from their time there. We had three generations there with different levels of experience and Carl adjusted his approach accordingly. The lake might be small and on the shallow side but it is well stocked, and we caught some incredible fish. I think we were all (ahem) hooked by the time we left.

Absolutely amazing place! Just had a fishing lesson and absolutely loved it. So helpful and friendly and answered my million questions. They try and make sure everyone has a big catch! Also recommended a shop nearby who set up a rod for my son (the same as we used here) and just couldn't have been more helpful! Highly recommended. My son loved it too, this is his third lesson (this one for my benefit!). Such a lovely day.

Best Fishing Experience Ever!

My 23-year-old Son asked to share a fishing experience with me over 15 years ago. Earlier this year, I contacted Carl Whitman to arrange a Fishing Experience/package for us. Carl went to great lengths to ensure our first fishing experience and a positive one. Carl tried to manage our expectations, as we happened to fish on the coldest day of this year. Carl got to Lake John Fishery before dawn (long before we arrived) to break up the ice on the lake and bait the fish. Carl's warm and professional enthusiasm helped create an environment where my Son and I could reflex and enjoy fishing, nature and the simple things in life. Carl kept my Son and I enthused throughout the session and to our delight, we both caught (and released) several fish.
I can honestly see why people get 'hooked' (pardon the pun) on fishing.
I cannot thank Carl enough and I would highly recommend Carl and this experience to all, no matter the weather.

Excellent!

My 7 year old thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Carl was so friendly and had just the right balance of helping/teaching and letting him get on with it without being overbearing. Really would recommend to anyone looking to give their child an introduction to fishing. Thank you Carl and team.
