What a find. Our daughter had an amazing cookery lesson whilst we had an al fresco lunch. Lovely food and amazing service. Worth a visit and highly recommended

Enjoyed a great day on the Thai Aromatics course with my daughter last week. Jan taught with patience and humour, ably assisted by Polly and Helen. Very professional and well organised, my chopping skills have been honed and I'm still sporting 10 digits. We will be back!

Fabulous day spent at the cookery school

My mum and I took two cookery classes with Gerard this week and both him and Polly were phenomenal. Gerard was incredibly fun, knowledgeable and passionate about the courses. Polly also helped to make the two days completely seamless. We can’t wait to go back! Couldn’t recommend enough!

Autumn dinner party cookery class
Had a fantastic day with Chef Gerard and Polly, cooking up risotto, scallops, beef Wellington, dauphinois potato and chocolate fondant. Chef spent time at every stage explaining the concepts, what you can prepare ahead, how you can make things easier for yourself and lots of “cheffy” tips. We made all the dishes ourselves, so the whole day was very hands on, chef created a great atmosphere, and there were lots of laughs. Polly looked after us so well, making sure everything was at hand and taking care of all the clearing up, which was such a treat.
The layout of the classroom was excellent, best I’ve ever been in, and the overall experience was fantastic. I’ve done classes with Atul Kocher, Mark Hix, Bryn Williams, Jose Pizzaro, Tom Kitchen, Skye Gyngall, the team @ Le Manior, plus many many more and this was the most enjoyable of them all, great job team Chewton Glen, thank you!!!!

In August, I attended a half day cookery course entitled ‘Get Curried Away’.
The morning started with a warm welcome from the Kitchen hostess. Coffee and cookies were provided and I met the other very friendly budding chefs.
The course was taken by Jan assisted by Polly. It was apparent right from the beginning that Jan could not only cook but she could teach also!
Everything was explained in understandable and manageable stages. If unsure, Jan and Polly were at hand to ask. Being a wife and mum and the main cook within our home, I learned some very useful tips such as keeping your ginger in the freezer.
A word about the quality of the ingredients and equipment used. All were of a very high standard. The kitchen was super clean and the completed meal a testament to the quality of the ingredients.
All in all this was a thoroughly enjoyable morning topped off by a delicious lunch afterwards. I can’t wait to try one of the other courses.

Great tuition from Jan on the Greek cookery course, Polly and Jerry were offering help and support too They made a very friendly team.
Food was delicious, I shall make everything at a future date. Most of all I would emphasise how relaxed the course, was a lovely experience.

Attended the Italian cookery class with my friend who kindly gave to me as a birthday gift.
One of the best days ever - loved it! The tutors, Jan and Polly, were brilliant - so friendly and helpful - I learned so much.
Would now like to attend the Indian cookery course - fantastic gift for a friend or a treat for yourself
Best of all, we enjoyed eating our creations in the beautiful outside garden for lunch.

I can see The Kitchen cooking classes are closed at the moment due to Covid, so I can't see examples of costs or types of classes on their website. Could someone give me an idea of what to expect in terms of what classes they normally offer and an idea of cost as I'm currently trying to plan this for my partners 30th in December! Fingers crossed it'll be back open by then. Thanks!
