Took my lad for a trial flight. His birthday is in December so it was always going to be tricky finding the right weather. The club is run by the most helpful, kind friendly volunteers who rearranged his flight and kept in touch throughout. Today after a phone last night due to weather changes, my lad took to the air. He absolutely loved it, even flying the glider himself. We will definitely be back for more lessons. Thank you.

Wonderful experience - friendly and expert help from all the Club members for a first-time glider flight. Comprehensive safety instructions. Despite no visible clouds, managed two short flights with tremendous views over the Lincolnshire countryside! Voucher bought as a birthday present - thank you to my family - couldn’t have bought me a better present!

What an amazing experience. Really friendly members and great fun. I had the flight experience today and my pilot talked me through everything and was fantastic. I got to fly it myself whilst on my experience and the views are amazing. Would highly recommend and I cant wait to go again. Thank you so much.

The flight experience was fantastic special thank you to Pat my pilot who talk me through the whole experience and taught me a lot about the glider and put me at ease
Flight was very comfortable and exciting Rey interesting seeing the area at a different level
The Team work as one runs like a well oiled machine they are all very safety conscious and professional a fantastic little club will go again if I’m in the area

ATTENTION: THIS IS THE EXPERIANCE OF A LIFETIME
I had an absolutely outstanding trial flight. Everyone was welcoming, the flight itself was awesome, and I will definitely return.
I would also strongly advise that you do too.
I put the recommended length of visit as <1 hour, however it is so magical that you will want to stay as long as you can.
At the beginning, there was a safety briefing (which not only made me feel safe, but my parents as well), and you get a parachute.
Although the weather wasn't good enough for a single 20 minute flight, I was taken back up to ensure I got the whole time that I'd paid for.
I even got to take over the controls for a while!!
The price : quality ratio is outstanding.

A fantastic experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity that will no doubt lead to yet another hobby. If you ever want the o fly like a bird, tranquility and solitude, then this is for you. Health and safety is 100% and professional and the staff were so friendly, helpful and well informed. We truly couldn’t have asked for more. Please give it a try and support this local gliding club as they are more doing this to allow others to experience gliding as opposed to making money. My 12 year old son was able to fly it under the instruction of the chief instructor and he said it was amazing. Thank you Dick and Bill.

A Gold Standard day out at the Lincolnshire Gliding Club situated at the former RAF Strubby Airfield.
From arrival to finish a very professional and enjoyable, thrilling experience delivered by the team.
It was my wife`s first experience of gliding and her instructor was Katherine.
We attended as a family group including our pup.
Two flights were given and a full brief before flying.
All the team in attendance were fantastic, very knowledgeable and professional.
Highly recommended and a great day to always remember.
What an opportunity!

Had an amazing gliding trial flight. Everyone in the club made me feel so welcome to be there and really made the experience special. Safety was the priority. I would definitely return and recommend for anybody looking at taking up gliding.

How much is it how far from Mablethorpe?
Hello. We charge £50 for a trial lesson and that includes 3 months membership. The club is about 20 min from Mablethorpe. Find us on the same site as woodthorpe aquatics centre.
