Dear Ben, Thank you for your feedback and apologies you didn’t enjoy your experience at Romanby. We have tried to contact you but having looked through our bookings we are unable to find your reservation. March was an extremely challenging month for golf. We had the highest rainfall on record in the last 40 years. The UK had 155% of average rainfall for the month, and it was the sixth wettest March ever with records dating back to 1836. Our green keeping team were working hard to prepare the course for the spring transition but due to the wet conditions were unable to get our mowers onto all areas of the course. The course was suitable for footfall but unfortunately not for our equipment with each mower weighing over 1 tonne. As such the course remained open for members and visitors alike to continue to play golf. This was also reflected in our green fees which were kept at our Winter green fee rate throughout this period to due to the challenging conditions. With regards to your comments about sand in bunkers, I’m unsure which holes you are referring too. We have recently remodelled some of our bunkers, they have had new sand placed in them but this does take a few weeks to settle and bed in. We have also been doing some work clearing out trees in non playing areas which I assume is what you may have seen whilst playing.
