Don’t Bother. No children (u18s) in any pubs. Cannot book a good table. All pubs understaffed. No prospects if it being sorted soon.
You will be disappointed.
We have been coming here for over 40 years other than lockdown.

Free parking at the top of the village (winter only). Steep steps/pavement lead to the village & beach. Good quality shops & inns. Beach very clean & good rock pools to explore. Robin Hood’s Bay has maintained its quaint ambience, it’s a very special place.

Wow, what a beautiful beach and the wildlife was wonderful. So many rock pools to explore when the tide is out. But it was spotting oystercatchers, sandpiper and cormorant that really made this visit / beach exciting.

Access to the village and beach is via a steep road or signed path, and vehicles need to be parked in one of two car parks on the higher level. The beach is a mixture of sandy areas and rocks/rock pools. A large proportion is covered up to the coastline at high tide. The tide does recede a considerable distance out into the bay, allowing relaxation on the sand or exploration of the many rocks and pools that are exposed. There is also a small promenade with seats that can be used under most tide conditions. The beach and village are well worth the visit for those not deterred by the descent and corresponding ascent.

If you don't mind a hilly descent, then Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit. There are nice little independent shops and places to eat on the way down the steep road to the beach. Unfortunately, the tide was in on the day of our visit, so we were unable to fully appreciate the beach. Returning via the path rather than the road provides you with magnificent views out to sea.

Beautiful place to visit. The road leading to the cove is very steep but has plenty of handrails and if you just stroll up and down it isn't too bad. Lovely place for all ages. Stunning views

Situated between Scarborough and Whitby it is a beautiful cove cute little roads lead down to the cove beware the way down is a steep road and is worth it you can sit look at the view with a drink n snack but the walk back up the hill needs stamina and take your time be sure to visit here

Such a lovely place to spend a day, walking, paddling, fossilling and taking in the sea air and scenery.
We even spent an hour watching the moon come up on the promenade late one evening it was mesmerising.

Robin Hood's Bay itself is a delightful place. We only really ventured onto the beach for a stroll and it's a dark, hard sand not perhaps for a day by the sea.
There are plenty of rock pools, fossils and interesting shells to look at and there are good views from the top.
Some surfers trying their luck, the waves looked challenging.

Can you drop off and pick up at the bottom of the village/beach? I am disabled and could never make the walk back up. I know you can't park but if my family could pick me back up at the bottom that'd be ideal. I do have a blue badge if that helps...

Hi there
I think it would be possible to get a minibus down to the beach to drop people off. The icecream van parks on the beach so I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem getting down.
The road I quite narrow and turning could be a bit of a squeeze but delivery vans go down. Hope this helps.
