This is a small and simple exhibition located upstairs in the old Lifeboat Station next to the harbour at the bottom of the village. It is free to enter and has displays relating to the history and surrounding coastline including the wildlife that can be seen. Some of the displays are interactive and good for children. Unfortunately, they were not all working at the time of our visit. The exhibition and a cafe on the lower floor are part of the National Trust. As with most locations in Robin Hood's Bay, access is on foot via a steep gradient. Car Parks are provided at the top of the hill.

We called in three times in three days for drinks, the staff were very friendly, there was a good choice of drinks and snack. The drinks were hot, much appreciated on those rainy and windy days.

Lovely friendly staff and delicious cakes made this a great place to stop and refuel ready for the walk back up to the car. Interesting exhibition and information about the locality too.

This only cost me a 1 pound to enter which was amazing as everywhere else is more than 5 pound. It has a rare lobster you can look it aswell as other fishes. It also has a little gift shop which is nice and cheap also

We walked into this place and got most of the way round before being told "no dogs allowed". The National Trust really do get on my wick! some places you can go in the cafe, some you cant, some places you can go in the shop, some places you cant, some places you are allowed in the grounds some places you arent.
So many dog owners would maybe put some money in the coffers if you let us! Seriously come down one side or the other no dogs anywhere ever or make it clear and simple then we might join again and visit more often.

Down by the jetty after the steep walk a good place to chill and understand a previous lifetime. Well worth the trip and excellent service at the counter.

The smallest and cheapest National Trust property I’ve visited so far. As a member I saved nearly £2!
It’s one room of interesting and interactive displays with binoculars to look out to see and fossils to handle. Information on coastal erosion, ecology and bird and animal life plus history of robin hoods bay all in one place. Worth an hour of your time.
