Fantastic trip. Great fun. Loads to do. Would return on a wet November day again. Family friendly. Food was ok.. outside pools were a good touch.

Totally inappropriate for couples. They sold us the tickets and there was no information anywhere saying that the adult section of the park would be closed. We planned our entire holiday around this visit: booked trains, hotels and Ubers just to be told (after we were already scanned at the gates!) that only the kid's section was open. You can imagine how two adults felt being surrounded by other people's kids in this day and age. This was an awkward and unenjoyable experience that completely ruined our holiday.
The lack of clear and critical information on the One day booking sales page has caused not only the loss of the ticket price but also approximately £300 in associated travel and accommodation expenses for an experience that was completely misrepresented.

This is the third time we’ve done the Santa sleepover at Alton Towers and unfortunately it was the most disappointing. The Christmas markets are no longer there, there is no lightopia and the dining options in the park are very limited and very expensive. We did know in advance that the markets and lightopia were not happening but had hoped there would be something in their place. The weather was awful (which obviously can’t be helped) but there were very limited options for eating under cover. There were only 2 rides open, even without the bad weather the only other rides to be open would have been CBeebies land - therefore if your children are over the age of eight, your options are very limited. There was a pantomime however not an appealing option for some and nothing else available. Splashlandings was unbelievably busy - the outside area only opened an hour after everything else and the water was absolutely freezing. The weather was cold and wet but I really would have hoped they could have warmed the water up more than that prior to allowing children to swim in it. Overall, we do really like Alton towers but for the rather large amount that there weekends cost - I would definitely expect more.

We did the Christmas package as a treat for our 3 young Grandchildren (9,6,2) and we arrived after a difficult journey on Storm Darragh day. I fully expected that most of the activities/rides would be shut or at least we would have had reluctant staff in the park. As it was without exception the staff in the park were 5* they played their parts with enthusiasm and lots of Christmas spirit from Father Christmas to all the elves and Reindeer helpers and ride operators and show people. They all helped lift the spirits and make a good day despite all of us especially the children being wet and cold. Hotel staff were also very good and engaging and the Panto was very good. Water park was busy but to be expected. Overall very good. Only negatives thought there should have been some heaters for the Sprout show as was outside and at that point was hoping for a warm up for half an hour as children really cold. Also extras extremely ott expensive including Santa pictures coffees etc .

We had a fantastic Santa sleep over experience in Alton towers. We stayed in Splash landing hotel. Our room was prepared on time and was very clean. The staff were all amazing, special mention to Amelia and Morgan who were extremely helpful and polite. We found the Pantomime entertaining and funny, the actors were great! The only downside was that there were only very few rides open, though the kids enjoyed the reindeer activity. The dinner buffet in Alton hotel was ok, only few options. What we enjoyed most is the waterpark with lots of things to do and rides with short queues.

We went today (storm Darragh day) weather was bad - very wet and windy and cold.
Staff were amazing. Everyone we spoke with were amazing.
We changed our plan for the day as the weather was horrible. So we did some of the rides for the first hour. Most of what was advertised was running (apart from in the night garden).
The show The sprout that saved Christmas in the court yard was fantastic, a lovely and engaging production.
We then went to play the reindeer games where you complete small tasks to find out which reindeer is missing and once completed you receive a lovely wooden Christmas keepsake.
As pass holders on certain dates you can purchase a pantomime ticket for £10 each which takes place in the conference centre (at the hotels).
This was a very welcome break from the wet and cold of being outside. This production lasted 1 hour and again was brilliant for the kids and adults.
As the weather was getting worse we went to see the festive decorations in the hotels which were very pretty. Here we found a scavenger hunt around the hotels and when we completed it the kids got a sticker.
We then called it a day.

We mainly went for Cbeebies land, which was great, the park itself is in a lovely setting, I've done all the big theme parks before but this one feels less crowded because its so big, greatbday out, cbeebies was so good for kids and adults alike

Arrived to a dull entrance with not much christmas spirit. Nearly all eateries and rides closed. Santa visit was okay. Lodge was warm but not very clean. Evening meal at the Crooked spoon was a carvery that was luke warm and kids section was appalling. Rock hard chicken coupons and fish fingers, chips were cold and mac n cheese t was cold. Pantomime was boring and late start for kids. Breakfast again was buffet with luke warm offering. Had to ask for fried eggs which you could of bounced of the walls. Poor selection fruit and kids choice. Cold pan cakes rice crispiest and cornflakes. Overall very disappointed and 2 fed up grandchildren. Has really declined since 2020

Alton towers hotel stay for the Santa sleepover with Waterpark & Themepark tickets.
Waterpark - great visit in the actual play area, quiet as this was for hotel guests only this weekend which was a major factor in booking. No queues or very little queues. Given how quiet it was, disappointed the changing rooms weren't very clean. Toilet area smelled like it'd not been mopped for a month, urine smell over powering. Please invest in some cleaning products and give a thorough disinfecting. The staff were using a broom type mop to sluice out the changing cubicles which was just moving the dirt around. The alarm for the big bucket has still not been fixed, wasn't sounding in February. Beware if you have little ones as they'll get knocked over.
Alton towers hotel - double bed broken, mattress was well and truly gone, no support whatsoever - 3 days later my back & neck are still hurting and had zero sleep. Lamps next to the bed also very dusty, not great for 2 of our party with allergies/asthma! Bunk beds OK but very creaky when one person moved. Lock on the door was broken which took a long time to resolve and wasted part of my evening going to and fro to reception. Seriously unimpressed at getting a knock on the door at 9:30am when check out time was 10am. Seriously Alton towers, for £400+ I expect you not to have a bailiff type employee banging on the door as we were trying to get ready to leave. Kids were also disappoited we didn't have the big teddy bear in our room this time. Small detail but matters to small kids and also when it's advertised as such, expect it to be there!
Themepark - looking very tired, all the rides are grotty/dirty - easy enough to clean them surely? Keep them looking bright and appealing to kids. The night garden characters in particular look more like a halloween atrraction now, especially poor upsy daisy and her dress, green with algae. Makka pakka looks like he needs to give himself a wash down with that communcal sponge he's always forcing on the others.
The queue line activities in Cbeebies land are broken on the Postman pat ride and have been like that since we visited in February. Rides also repeatedly broken down - treetops was off all day, not worked in 3 visits we've been in the last 18 months, go jetters & postman pat also broke down multiple times. Very disappointing as the time wasted in queues meant we missed some of the start times on the timed attractions like Furchester hotel/Andy's dig and the Christmas show in mutiny bay as we'd planned to go over there for the last show. Also felt they could've added a show time for the sprout show given the park was still open for a while after the last showing.
Didn't get to take advantage of the reindeer games either due to wasted time in cbeebies land for rides which were broken and therefore missed out on the prizes. We managed to see some of the shows in cbeebies but again, only one showing of teletubbies at 10:30 which we missed due to only being able to get a breakfast booking late on. Not sure why an additional show couldn't have been put on as the shows are all really short.
Santa experience was good, Santa was very personable and good with the kids. Grotto looked nice. Some people mentioned they felt rushed but didn't feel like that for us and the kids got a nice teddy each. £20 for 2 single photos was an absolute P***take. No option to even by a single one.
Christmas buffet meal in Flambo's was below expectations with some items looking overcooked, others over cooked and meat quality very fatty. Breakfast OK but swimming in oil.
Evening entertainment - panto OK, probably more for older ones/adults really as some of the younger kids were bored although my 2 and 5 yr old were tired and happy to watch what was going on. They were looking forward to the splash landings hotel kids entertainment but a power cut lost 90 minutes of that. Disappointed no contingency to provide guests with drinks - even water - during a power cut, especially young kids. For the money we've paid to Merlin, surely a bottle of water or 2 could be given. VERY hot in splash landings too so made for a tiring experience trying to entertain kids with no liquid whatsoever. Water in the toilets was off, only thing working was emergency lights.
Fish tank on the splash landings hotel is appalling - the fish look unhealthy, behaviour shows they are not happy and tank hasn't been cleaned in a while. No natural anemone for the clown fish. You'd think given they have a sealife centre, someone from there could look after the tank! Half the aquatic life from the information signs are no longer there, not surprised.
Overall, 3rd time staying over and each time it seems to be worse with lack of investment/cost cutting/customer service going downhill. Staff are ok but when you have an issue, they can't actually resolve it. Won't be renewing our annual passes as don't feel we are getting value for money since charging full price for over 90cm, our 2 yr old is still excluded from half the rides and our 5 yr old has only just hit the 1.1m requirement so we have missed out on previous visits. Booked again for February pirate takeover before we'd been this weekend, wish we hadn't to be honest but will be using alternative themeparks if we don't see an improvement to the issues outlined above.

It was an amazing experience very fun, I loved the smiler. The spin ball was fun but they kept testing which made us loose lots of time to get on the other rides but it was still fun. The only this was that there was a rude staff at the smiler. Me and my friend got on it 2 times the first time it was fine because we didn’t really care where we sat, but then on the second time we wanted to sit on the first row and we asked in a very well manner if we could but instead of listening to our request he just kept ignoring us and told us to go to the 3rd row repeatedly not even letting me finish what I had to say. If we had to wait a little more we would have waited and it would’ve been completely fine. But overall it was a fun ride.

Hi We are staying in a Stargazing pod and we will be at the park for the next day. What time do you get to actually enter the park or are we already onsite?
Are they close to the resort?
It states it comes with breakfast, where do we go for this?

There is a separate entrance to the park for those staying onsite, it opens from 9am and is a 5min walk from the Stargazing Pods. It brings you into the park near Galactica and Nemesis. The rides will open at 10am. Breakfast wise there is a counter next to the reception for the Stargazing pods where you collect your breakfast bap and hot drink.

How busy should alton towers theme park alton towers Hotel cbeebies hotel next year in March about Tuesday 4th March 2025 with families/parents with children 3 years old to 12 years old during school term time.

The theme park and CBeebies Land will be closed then. It doesn’t open for the season until mid/late March.

you have to book the park entry separately, we booked Saturday and Sunday in the park and Saturday night in the 'smiler' themed room. After booking the room the site presents you with options to book for the park. There's a free go on the golf included with your room and breakfast, but that's all.

What are the parking charges on site? Is it worth booking parking in advance on the Alton Towers website?

It’s £10 a day for regular parking, or £20 for premium parking right by the entrance. If you want premium parking it’s best to prebook as it does sell out. However for regular parking you can just pay on the day via the app.

I have bought 2 tickets online through sun newspaper. The website only showing one bar code? Do i need e-ticket with 2 bar codes for entry through turnstiles ?
