Farnham Park is a large public park located in the town of Farnham in Surrey, England.
It covers an area of over 320 acres and is a popular destination for dog walking, as well as a variety of other outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and many more.
Farnham Park is a great place for dogs in all weather conditions. The park has a variety of terrain, including open grassy areas, wooded areas, and ponds, which can provide plenty of opportunities for your dog to explore and play.
In the winter, the park is a great place to go for a walk with your dog to enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise.
In the summer, there are plenty of shaded areas where you can take a break and give your dog a drink of water.
It's always a good idea to be prepared for all types of weather when visiting a park with your dog.

We are so lucky to live right next to this wonderful park. We walk around the park at least three times a week as do many others with either dogs or children etc. However, on Saturday evening 5th November the Roundtable of Farnham organised the most superb event in Farnham Park which was the Bonfire party with a simply brilliant firework display. We had booked up in advance and this works out at £10 per adult and £5 per child over the age of 2yrs. The evening as many who attended will remember was one of intermittent showers, but this never stopped a very big crowd from attending. There was a torchlight procession with a band playing from Waggoners Yard Car Park and this snaked up Castle Street to the park. We had called into the Nelson Arms for a quick pint, and this was absolutely heaving. The organisation of the event in Farnham Park is just superb and we are so lucky to have the Roundtable to thank for this. At the site near the firework display was a live band who played after the display. Before that there was many eating areas which had enormous queues. The park is such a lovely place to be able to hold events like this. The next day as we walked around the park for enjoyment the area had already been meticulously cleaned and you would have had trouble knowing an event had occurred. The park is certainly a place to visit and in the early mornings you will see quite often numerous Roe Deer etc which is lovely.

As with most of Britain, when we visited, Farnham was wilttering under unprecedented August heat, consequently the Park was a lawn of dry brown grass with struggling trees . It is a shame but nature will recover, Currently it is a strangely beautiful location in the heat of the sunshine.

Lots for kids to do including trim trail, walks and cafe. Even a great view of the gold course. Will certainly be back.

Lovely day at Farnham Park after looking at the website however although it advertises free car park it didn't mention only about 6 to 7 car fit in there so arrived and no spaces also car park wasnt very well sign posted. Glad there is a concrete path around the park but quite narrow, as the grass was very boggy even though we hadn't had much rain.

Last visited this park twenty years ago and we were very disappointed with our trip today. The footpaths were dotted with dog mess everywhere we walked. You could smell dog mess as soon as you got out of the car! The main car park was almost full and we saw two separate elderly gentlemen open their car doors and literally let their dogs jump out to do their business - disgusting!

WHAT’S REALLY GOOD - Its fantastic the Bishops Deer Park has been preserved for the local community. It has Free Parking. Clearly well used and much loved by local residents. Views over Farnham. The Cafe. Great place for dogs. The park by the second car park slightly more wild and ecologically interesting with few veteran oaks and stream. Ranger station history of the Park good. Great to see some sheep grazing unimproved pasture.
WHAT’S NOT - dog faeces, plastic bags in trees and hedges containing dog faeces,, toilets seem to be now permanently closed which is unacceptable, appalling lack of finger posts to help navigate around the park, muddy main paths although we did note piles of woodchip for natural surfacing, a bit boring and urban not enough wildlife urgently needs rewilding - unimproved grassland - wild flowers, wood pasture native trees for future veterans, connective hedgerows, wetlands near stream and more wildlife ponds. Avenue trees planted too close together so Lyme trees have no room to expand their crowns as they age. Serious lack of wildlife interpretation boards, no leaflets for self guided walks etc…
Farnham is very lucky to have this amazing natural resource but perhaps could do with more conservation management / rewilding, proper signposting and interpretation boards and for goodness sake reopen the public toilets !

We walked through the park from Hale to get down to Farnham today and it was just beautiful. The park has so much space to walk and relax and really gives you an uplifting positive feeling. Excellent for families with activities to keep the young ones happy.

Farnham deer park is a lovely place to walk your dog. We have been coming here for 20 years. It is well maintained, and dog owners, on the whole, are very responsible and nice people. Unfortunately, this morning, my husband and I were walking our 9 year old cocker spaniel and experienced an unusual but very unpleasant incident. A German shepherd/Alsatian dog came charging over to us, barking, it was quite intimidating for us and our dog. The young woman owner refused our request to call her dog back and keep it under control, the 2nd time we asked her she became abusive and said if we did not like our dog 'socialising' we should not be in the park !?
Our dog happily socialises with other dogs, just not aggressive, out of control ones.
We have reported this to the Rangers Office but it has left us shaken.

Lovely park with plenty of room for social distancing during lockdown 2. Unfortunately there were far too many cars for the car park and people were leaving their cars all over the place.
Park was well maintained and I had a wonderful walk with my Border Collie. I look forward to returning when hopefully it is not so busy

From Castle Street, turn right onto Park Row and there is a path on the left that heads into the park and the play area is on your right.
