Leatherhead is an ancient English town, originally recorded as the ford across the tiver in Anglo Saxon times. The museum is lovely. It is small but beautifully reflects the local history

Small, compact, fascinating, briliant exhibits and all staffed entirely by volunteers.
No visit to Leatherhead is complete without spending 30 minutes in this beautiful building and talking with the staff. An absolutely must see for anyone with any connection to the area. Don't miss it

Leatherhead museum is an excellent experience and highly recommended to all local residents as an education about local history as well as an enjoyable and informative visit for visitors,
Staffed entirely by welcoming and helpful volunteers the house itself is an experience of how we lived in the past! Exhibitions include Ashtead pottery, probably the best exhibition on this, and other local businesses such as Ronson lighters and Goblin teas made for a fascinating insight into Leatherheads past industrial history. There is also a artime exhibit with a detailed map of bomb landings most interesting for all locals!

I first visited the Museum 20 years ago and decided it was time to see how it had changed. The volunteers were lovely and friendly and we were interested to find evidence of an archeological dig in Fetcham.
When we mentioned that our grandson was interested in the subject, we were given a book to pass on to him.

I have lived in Leatherhead for many,many years, but never knew about the Museum, It an old period house, and is well worth a visit,for the history of Leatherhead and all the old historical stuff on show, it is only 4 rooms, but reveals a lot including World War materials. Most of the rooms are cramped packeted with it, but you have to go up a flight of old stair to go around most of it... so possible not suitable for disabled people

The exhibits in this museum are fascinating as they are small an accessible, modest items of Leatherhead life. They are very personal and reflect normal domestic life of times gone by.

This museum is too small bearing in mind the history of Leatherhead. There are three or four rooms that are too small to swing a cat. Hardly worth traveling a distance if you wish to visit.
