I’ve used this cinema for many years. Before it’s refurbishment, it was awful. Once it was refitted it was a great experience but there are now signs of ware and tear. Fingers crossed they stay on top of it as it would be horrible to see it fall into the state it once was. The staff are always friendly though and your parking is reimbursed if you get them to scan your ticket which is a bonus!

My friends and I went to see the Little Mermaid film. The staff were friendly and helpful at the kiosk as we were having technical issues booking the tickets. We got sofas, which are definitely comfy and worth paying that fraction more for.

My partner and I went to see "Avatar, The Way Of Water" at Empire's "Impact" screen, (screen number eight), yesterday afternoon.
We decided to pay a little bit extra for reclining seats, as the movie is nearly three hours long. It was worth it, as they were very comfortable.
As the film finished and we were walking out in to the corridor, there were two young ladies armed with cleaning materials just about to go in and refresh the viewing area.
One of them said to me, "Did you have a nice time?"
I confirmed that we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and she replied,
"Oh good, I'm so glad!"
It was refreshing to be met with such friendliness and charm.
I recommend she be promoted to customer services manager, or at the very least, given a big New Year's bonus!
Thank you for a very pleasant visit.

Lovely cinema, great choice of seats and reasonably priced. Always clean and helpful staff. Our favourite cinema!

Tina Jenkinsons (manager of empire cinema) refused to refund me back for the terrible food they provided me and my son on his 4th birthday. (Which we did not eat).
The hot dog was disgusting, bread was stale and popcorn they provided me was not fresh, 27 pound in the bin. Not even an apology, nothing...She was defensive with my complaint for no reason.
To top of a bad movie, the service she provided was horrendous, including the staff members attitude, who stood next to her laughing and smirking as if my complaint was a joke.
I hope they realise what a unprofessional member of staff they have, especially as management.
A simple apology would of been lovely.
But to receive nothing but attitude and passive aggressive body language.
From the minute I explained the manager didnt want to resolve my issue.
I will never ever recommend or go to EMPIRE CINEMA again.

I have just had the most outrageous experience at empire sutton. The manager a lady called Sarah just accused me of calling her names and swearing at her in front of other customers and her staff when I asked for the head offices complaints phone number or email address. This is an outrageous lie that none of her staff would comment on. There Silence spoke a thousand words !!
Wow what has the world come to when you are accused of disrespecting people for simply asking for head office complaints details. Shocking

Polar Express Night, Xmas 2021. Sutton. Screen One. Seats A 1,2,3.
Absolutely outstanding experience with the children (11, 6) watching Polar Express. Whoever is in charge of this event, give them a raise. All the little touches were really brilliant, and totally made our night. Great attention to detail. The children were given golden tickets like in the film, by an elf. Then there was an array of trees and decorations, and a balloon train! Then, a conductor dressed like the conductor in the film, hole-punching our tickets. When we got inside, the children were given a bell in a pretty bag. This elf was super. Really friendly, helpful, great asset to the team. I got her name; Lucy. The cinema seats were clean and comfortable, and though we were at the very front, looking back I can state that they are really well raked and there would never be a problem if a tall person sat in front of you. The front seats were great, not too close so no neck-straining.
A lady I assume was the manager then announced the film was about to start. This was a really nice, personal touch. It seemed like a cosy, family event. She seemed genuinely keen to ensure everything was perfect and we were all happy.
After the film, there was an extra surprise, which I won't detail in case you're going, as I don't want to spoil it. It was fantastic. Wow.
Highly recommend.
Hot chocolate drinks were given out. We are a vegan family, so I emailed in advance to check if we would be catered for. I was told sadly not, but very accommodatingly that I would be permitted to bring our own so that my children weren't left out.
Absolutely 10/10, way exceeded expectations, highly recommend.
Every single member of staff really took their part seriously, got into character, were great with the kids.
Oh, and free parking next door, just validate your ticket. (Up to three hours.)
When we got back, the children put their new bells on the tree (yes, our tree is already up in November). Great memories to treasure. Thank you.

I came here before the refurbishment and it was good. The wait for the new cinema was worth it. I liked the new design as well.

Is there free parking?

Yes - there is free parking for three hours. When you leave the film the cinema validates your parking ticket and it takes three hours off the parking costs at the multi-storey car park next door. If the visit is less than 3 hours it is free and if over 3 hours you pay the difference in the car park machine. Free or not you need to run the parking ticket through the machine in the car park to be allowed to exit the car park barriers.
