I arrived not long before closing but did a quick look through. Exhibit on the Willamette Falls was interesting. Not a lot to see here be good information on the area.

We discovered this Museum while visiting the Portland area. This museum located in Oregon City, OR (the end of the Oregon trail). We went on a Monday.. They were closed, but the last emloyee who went in didn't get the door secured... We went it, and found an employee working at the desk. She was very appologetic for being closed, but when we told her we were from out of state, and leaving in two days, she turned on the lights so we could look around. It was a neat museum with lots of History of Oregon City, the Oregon Trail, and early setttlers of Clackamas County. We stayed for at least an hour looking at the atrifacts and wonderful view of the river below. A msut see if you are in this area of Oregon. There was no fee, but a donation box is there if you feel the need. (Which we left a nice donation for letting us in while they were closed.)

Open Wednsday, Friday and Saturday, we luckily stumbled upon this gem of a museum on a Saturday afternoon. The exhibits were well done. Representation of regional Natve Amercans, pioneer artfacts and historical exhibits for the city dubbed "The end of rhe Oregon Trail". The cost was a free will donation and we stayed for over an hour and a half learning more about the area. The parking lot is free and huge with a spectacular view of Willamette Falls and the historic power plant you learn all about in the museum. Do the observation towe, largest in the US still used as transportation by area residents and the McLoughlin House run by the National Park Service. After the disappointing and mostly closed End of the Oregon Trail Museum, now just an intrepretive center, this was a marvelous way for a peek into the beginnings of the State of Oregon.
