I visit JFBB often, but will not go back. I tried to buy lift tickets with a gift card I purchased last year, but they told me I could not do so, even though the card says " This Card May Be used toward purchase of Lift Tickets, Rental, Lessons, or Food Service". Awful business ran by awful people. Would give zero stars if I could.

Without reading reviews, ordered 4 lift tickets and 1 lesson online two weeks before our trip. After reading reviews, decided to cancel but was unsuccessful. I have to be honest and tell you that I came one day prior our trip to resolve my issue with tickets. A woman at customer service spent as much time as needed to find out if my tickets were valid. After positive confirmation, we came next day to ski. Arrived at 9:15am, it was snowing that day but parking lot was almost full. We were able to check-in and get our rentals within one hour (we were four people). I believe this is normal process.
Overall, our experience was very good, and kids enjoyed slopes. Food was delicious but there is no inside eating, only outside.
Make sure you arrive 8:45am if you want to park your car and have smooth and fast check-in. Shall you arrive later, you will hit longer lines.

After purchasing 4 lift tickets online, I read recent Trip Advisor reviews & was concerned I made a mistake. Nope! We all had an unbelievably fantastic time. Unlike previous reviews, there was zero wait to get our ski passes, lift lines were short, staff were friendly, & proper masking enforced. We will be coming back soon!

My experience gets 3 stars because I went to JFBB for two days. Day 1 was excellent and Day 2 was abysmal.

I purchased lessons and lift tickets well in advance and then got spooked by the negative reviews that I read where families spent hours in line only for their reservations to be deemed invalid. To get reassurance that my tickets would be valid, I called the resort countless times and nobody ever answered. No customer service agents replied to emails. Nobody from Vail corporate answers their phones or responds to emails either. Not reassuring at all!

I arrived at JFF on Thursday, February 13 at 9AM, the time the ticket windows opened. I wanted to be sure to be at the front of any of these crazy lines I was reading about on Tripadvisor! No Line! The service was perfect. My boys got their lessons and we enjoyed the most amazing fresh-snow (natural) conditions I've ever seen on the East Coast. The lines were practically non-existent until after lunch and even then, only 2-3 minutes. They only had 3 lifts open, but most trails were open and in great shape. Wow!

We returned Friday, February 12 at 10AM and the place was packed. I'm so glad that we had our Epic passes because the line for the ticket windows was hundreds of feet long!!! We walked right in. We skied as much as possible before the lines became discouraging... we're talking 35 minutes. Despite the huge crowds, they never opened more lifts and I can only guess it is because they are short-staffed. This was the start of a busy holiday weekend and they simply didn't keep up with the demand. The trails were sparse with skiers... because EVERYONE was waiting on line!!! THAT day, we got little value for the price of the lift ticket.

Outdoor skiing should be a great activity during this COVID pandemic, but JF managed to cluster all of their clients together on lift lines this Presidents Weekend. Shame on them for not being better prepared and not allocating their staff to run more lifts. Their were so many employees wearing JFBB jackets, but they were either giving lessons, checking tickets or overseeing the empty trails.

We used our day pass to night ski at Big Boulder that night (again, busy holiday weekend!?). We arrived by 7pm. Parking was first row, nobody checked tickets... I saw almost no employees at all except the person helping you at the lift chair. It was like a teenage hangout... some disrespectful kids, but nothing terrible. Most importantly, we got nine runs in that night... almost making up for the disaster at JF earlier that day.

It’s true- they don’t want you to ski

Wow. I wish I listened to the reviews before I bought the tickets!! I thought some of what people were talking about waiting in long ticket lines had to do with the beginning of the season, but this is middle of February and I would’ve thought they would’ve figured it out by now. So you go online and reserve a ticket, and then you get to the resort and have to wait in line for them to print out a credit card type of pass for you.
I waited for 75 minutes. There were two people at the ticket window. Jfbb knew how many tickets they sold and how many people to expect, but they didn’t staff the Windows.
You keep that pass in your pocket and it gets scanned before you get on the lift. I think after you buy the card one time you can reload it for next time, but I’m sure many people here aren’t coming back.

There were FOUR lifts open on the mountain today. Tickets were sold out and I was told that they sold extra. I asked if they were going to open more lifts and they just kept saying I don’t think so. People were waiting in line for 45 minutes. AGAIN,

They knew exactly how many tickets they had sold and they still did not staff well or open the lifts.

This was always our go to spot, but we are going to Blue Mountain from now on.

I just can’t get over how disappointed I am. I think the resort should be offering discounted tickets to the people who came today. But I don’t think that’s going to happen. And why should they? People will come but I don’t think they will come back.

Long lines at lift - over crowded

They claim to be at 25% capacity however not sure it could have been any more crowded.

The crappy food has to be eaten outside in the snow as they only have a handful of tables.

Tons of people with no masks on and everyone is on top of each other.

Long lift lines especially for the beginner slopes. Then they give access to the dozens of lessons groups to cut the lines.

If it was less crowded and more controlled it would be 4 stars.

The worse customer service!

Dear manager,

I spoke with your assistant manager it was extremely disrespectful person.

I tried to explain to him we purchased 6 tickets and when we buy the other 2 tickets on the end the payment did not process.
I called and left Voicemail no one returned the call.

It was available to book on the end says no availability, I did screen shot you to see.
I’m asking you nicely to have 2 tickets available because your website it’s wrong and I will place a big complain over this.

I also sent an email and I’m waiting someone to resolve the issue.

New Management is Horrible

Don’t buy tickets online!!! Under new management with Vale and they are thieves. We purchased 3 overpriced passes for a Sunday at Jack Frost. We changed plans and cancelled 4 days in advance and have copies of the cancellation. We were well within their cancellation deadline. However, after a month, they never refunded my card so, I filed a dispute with the credit card. Vale came back and denied that we ever cancelled. So, I had to provide all these documents to my credit card. Huge hassle and waste of my time!!! ! We will no longer ski at JFBB or buy the Epic pass (they didn’t refund anyone during pandemic). We go to Bear, Blue, Montage or Elk. There are better options at places who care about their customers.

1/2 day in line despite having tickets, no apology

We have been to Jack Frost on several occasions.

The mountain itself is nicely spaced and the ski conditions are decent for NE PA. On weekends the lift line can take over a half an hour--therefore you get limited runs in. The lodge is always packed and not comfortable but we only take quick as needed breaks--Its not somewhere you want to hang out in. No cozy lodge vibe but it is close to our home and the mountain. But given our last experience when we visited mid Dec 2020, we may never be back--POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our son begs not to go back.

We arrived at 9 am (hours of operation 9-4 weekdays) on a Monday. It was not a holiday and given Covid restrictions all tickets had to be pre-purchased on-line to avoid standing in lines in crowds. The directions instructed us to get in the "Express Scan line" to have your confirmation scanned for entry,. We arrived in line at 9:10am; the line was a bit longer than normal, however not long (we figured we would be on the slopes in 20 mins max). WRONG--3 HOURS and 10 mins of standing in the cold with my child, we were scanned. It appeared like there were computer issues; each person took about 20 mins to be effectively scanned ?!?!? Everyone was livid!--especially since we all had tickets We kept thinking we would be in soon as the line was short in front of us and the resort was not crowded at all! I've never saw it less crowded actually. The worst part is there was no apology, no one at guest services to talk to, the manager would not come out to speak to us..... The manager supposedly told the person at the window that there are no discounts for half the time we paid for wasted waiting in line. We emailed to the complaints department twice with not even an automated response. Called their customer service # several times. No one ever picks up and there is no option to leave a vmail; It just says "Call back later" We wrote a letter to Vail Resorts directly and then one to the CEO to inform them of their poor customer service- at this resort--no response of any kind. That day to get a refund we were told we would have to wait in yet another endless line after 3 hours of waiting crushed together. Since that experience, we have skied at a couple other mountains in the area with absolutely no ticket line. When we tell our son, who loves snowboarding, we are planning on going ski/boarding, he now says "We AREN'T going to Jack Frost are we?!'

Resort that takes Covid Seriously

I was pleased to see this place went above and beyond state mandates including:
-limiting the number of tickets sold (there were long lift lines that were more bc of the lack of trails being open bc of lack of snow)
-spacing out the parallel lift lines that fed into one
-no indoor seating
-no indoor food seating (kids enjoyed eating I'm the back of the suv)
-seperating bathroom stalls so every other one could be used
-cresdit cards only
-rechargable cards

We'll be back this year!
