Fun experience for and 8 year old.

This visit was a great hit with my 8 year old grandson. He still remembers the difference between stalactites and stalagmites. Our guide, Lexi was articulate, knowledgeable and engaging. It was a fun experience and the gift shop had a variety of rocks etc for reasonable prices.

A great field trip!

We took our first grade here for a field trip. The kids loved it. They were so excited to see the rock formations in the cavern as well as panning for gemstones. The staff were so well organized and very friendly. I would definitely do this again.

Lost River Caverns is worth the money!

Caverns and Lost River are interesting. Tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable. Tour was about 45 minutes and well worth the money. Items in the gift shop are more than reasonably priced.

I visited with my 16 year old son and his friend on Saturday 4/15/2023 during a rainstorm. We are from suburban NJ and drove an hour to get there.

This is a mom-and-pop shop run by the senior grandchildren of the original owners.

Buy tickets online. Tours book up on Saturdays. Get there 15 minutes in advance.

Small but mighty

We’ve done a lot of cavern walks. This was by far the best one. It’s not huge but has a lot of diversity of rock formations and lots of information. The guide was funny, engaging, and my kids were really involved in the tour. The museum before and after was a surprising added bonus.

Great Unique Experience

It is cold at 52 degrees but it not cold like you need warmer clothes. We wore shorts and it felt nice temperature wise underground. The tour guide was funny and you can tell she cares about her job and what she does even telling jokes which made it cool for our kids. Seeing the colors and learning about the queen room was very interesting. We drove 1 1/2 hours and it lasts about 45-60 minutes. Well worth it as it’s a unique experience.

The place was nice and beautiful! We throughly enjoyed our experience! We had a great tour guide and I'm so sorry I don't remember his name! He was very informative and took the time to answer all the children's questions in our group and acted like he truly wanted to be there with us!! 🥰 we would definitely go back. The staff in the gift shop were super nice and full of info and smiles. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home.

Adam gave an informative tour. It was informative and he was knowledgeable. We secured reservations by phone- that is probably a good idea. It was about an hour.
