This year's Valentine's Day took a painful turn when a simple chocolate covered strawberry led to a dental disaster! I received a box of these treats from Philadelphia Candies, but when I bit into one after a long car trip, my front tooth completely snapped off at the root....mind you that this strawberry was not frozen or even refrigerated at the time.
The chocolate was rock solid - I literally had to use all my strength to cut through it with a knife. Despite filing a complaint, the company claims no negligence and that it met industry standards.
Now I'm facing a grueling 8-month journey with multiple surgeries and up to $10,000 in out-of-pocket costs for a tooth implant. Not to mention the temporary tooth woes - lisps, eating issues, and just feeling off.
What should've been a sweet Valentine's treat turned into an expensive and painful ordeal. Beware of overly hardened chocolate goodies! I'll think twice before indulging in those tempting treats again and Philadelphia Candies will most certainly not be on my list for gifts to those I love.

I always order chocolate for myself and as gifts from this company online. Recipients rave about the quality, usually saying that this chocolate is better than any name brand chocolate. In addition, one can choose what is in the gift box.
I am originally from Sharon- Hermitage, and live out of state, now. This company, started by the parents, has been part of the community since 1919. It is a gem among chocolatiers.

Our very first visit to this store was yesterday on our date night. It did not disappoint. Very helpful & friendly staff. We are definitely planning another visit!
We got Coffee Meltaways, Maple Creams, Coffee Creams, Peacanettes. Yum! We’re ready to try more flavors. The cream is a thick fudgy-type center. So creamy and delicious! Chocolates were in a great big glass showcase.
My only recommendation for them would be to have a neon OPEN sign, because we drove by the first time and didn’t think it was open. I’m so glad we went back to check. They are open until 9pm Mon-Saturday, so definitely stop by!
Masks are currently required in the store.

I ordered a Thanksgiving gift over the phone from Philadelphia Candies, and the person I talked with was patient and helpful, advising me on my selections from their vast offerings. The package was delivered on time with no problems. I would order from them again.

We always try to stop when we are in Sharon for a visit. The candy is delicious- rich & creamy. The staff is always polite & very helpful. And you get samples to try. Highly recommend this family owned shop. BEST chocolate in the Valley

Best candy in Mercer County.! Quality family owned business into the third generation. Creamy chocolate covering anything you could want. Factory on premise and quality is superb. Buy it by the piece or pound, you won't be disappointed!

Best experience ever in ordering on line from out of state. I ordered speciality items for Easter following a google search, sending to 3 different locations throughout the country. I am amazed at the product and quick service received. All items were received in perfect condition within 2-3 days. Quality was excellent. Thank you for making my holiday!!!!!! I will do this again. Totally impressed.
