Such a special place to visit and watch the seals from a distance, there were so many seals to watch and we enjoyed a beautiful walk!

Spent our last morning here seal watching. There were 2 seals already beaches on arrival followed by 3 others which we were lucky enough to watch come in from sea. Highly recommend for the couple quid parking fee and short 5minute walk which is all it cost. Fab morning enjoyed by all

We were lucky enough to see a pod (or harem!) of seals on a blustery late October. Its very dramatic perched on top of a sheer cliff face peering down into Mutton Cove to see the shenanigans the seals are up to. Great fun, they put on a good show for a few of us brave enough to stand the wind & rain.

Brilliant place to observe wild seals, especially at low tide, when they bask on the beach. Easy 5 minute walk up from NT Carpark . Only slightly more energetic if you walk around the headland past Godrevy Lighthouse. There are public toilets close to the car park. Take binoculars and keep quiet for a rewarding peek at these beautiful sea mammals.

It's a good walk up to look over the vertiginous drop back down into Mutton Cove. Plenty of seals at this time if year, which is fantastic. The always put on a show from baking at each other, the odd scrap and running through the waves.

We walked up from Gwithian Beach & were lucky enough to see two tiny white seal pups on the rocks at low tide at this cove….no sign of Mom though!
The viewing area is high above the cove & there are sighs asking visitors to try & remain quiet in order to avoid disturbing the seals.

Visit at low tide for the seal viewing as the cove is probably full of water at high tide. We visited in early October and it was uncrowded and with plenty of seals basking in the beach. The viewing area is quite high up so take binoculars for a closer view. We saw seals swimming in the sea and also a little white pup feeding on mum. You can hear the seals “barking” too. Overall, a truly wonderful experience.
There are a few different parking areas - more expensive closer to the seals £2 or £4 for an hour (free for National Trust members). Free toilets in the car park closest to seals and a busy cafe in the furthest car park. If you can manage the walk along the headland from the furthest car park, it is definitely worth it and has lovely views. You can also walk along the beach at low tide and then climb the steps up to the seal viewing area. Needless to say (hopefully), access to the beach where the wild seals are is strictly prohibited for conservation reasons, so don’t expect to get close to them.

Great walk with stunning views. Sadly no seals when I went but worth the climb up for the scenery. Nice to see signage to keep quiet because of the seal pups.

We walked along the coast and the blue waves crashed against the cliffs. When we reached the top, we could see the adorable seals wobbling along the sand and they were very cute!

It's an easy walk from Gwithian beach up to Mutton Cove. The tide was in and there were no seals to be seen.
However, the Cove is treated almost with reverence as people peer over the wooden barrier and speak in whispers obeying the signs to not disturb the wildlife. People with dogs kept them away in case they barked and lively children were dragged away quickly. There were photographers with VERY big cameras keeping very still waiting to catch the perfect shot. Quite something to experience.

Peak Seal is roughly December to March but you could see seals in the cove at any time (they are all over the place in Cornwall - though only in the sea). There'll probably be seals at the end of May - good luck ...and please keep quiet, and don't go down on the beach, keep dogs under control. Etc. Enjoy!
