This Trail is rated level four, and considered challenging. It isn’t really challenging, just exceptionally poorly maintained. Not fit for children under 12 years old… barely a Trail, more like hiking, uphill through a creek bed. Genuinely dangerous in some places, especially if you use the same Trail coming back down the mountain. I would recommend using the road. Traffic is sparse, the scenery and the view at the top are the same, but the walking conditions are significantly better.

Fantastic views of the coastline in both directions.

Narrow somewhat winding roadway in places on the way up but well worth the drive given the superb views at the top.

Two well maintained lookouts, one directed north (the Laurieton Lookout) and the other south (the Don Johnstone Lookout), at the top along with a grassed area and some picnic tables.

Plenty of free parking as well.

Little brother mountain look out was neat ,tidy and clean. Great way to waste time away viewing the Camden haven coastline. Loving the stop here to have morning tea and relax . Absolutely worth the drive up.
Only disappointed was witnessing a idiotic low life person trying to put the boot into a goanna. Karma will come to him eventually .

So Pleased the Road is Open Again

It had been quite a while that a land slip had made the road to the lookout impassable.
When we were in the area today we noticed that the road was open with one short section that is still single lane.
Just love the view over Laurieton and the waterways. The view to the South over Middle Brother and Watson Taylor Lake is also stunning. The are picnic tables and bbqs and there is a lovely bush walk through the rainforest.

Great view, good viewing platforms. Road to the lookout is narrow, alot of places where you can't pass another car, but everyone seemed to be going slowly.

Challenging hike with good views

It was a bit wet when we did this walk smothered were leeches everywhere but it was still really good. Quite difficult in places.

Wheelchair Accesible track and bush walking

Wonderful views and some fabulous bush walking tracks. It was refreshing to find a sealed track to a lookout which is wheelchair accessible. This is located on your right as you enter the lookout area and opposite the toilet block. Clean facilities and tables and benches provided if you want to stop for a meal.
