Love this great little cinema for an old world theatre experience with affordable prices and comfortable seating in exquisite surroundings. My family love to visit when holidaying in the area. Also a great place to catch a latest release in comfort and style

Recently visited to watch a movie with my family. Nice venue. You are basically allowed 2 minutes between when the doors open to when the movie starts. We missed the first few minutes of the movie as we were near the back of the line. Then the lights came on to clear the theatre before the movie ended to allow the next movie patrons to fill the cinema. Just pure greed.The two older workers behind in counter were rude. wouldn’t hurt them to crack a smile every once in a while. Yep I’ll be supporting the new cinema in port Macquarie once it opens. Shame as it’s a nice movie but horrible people that work there. I normally like to support small businesses

Recently, we saw Star Wars - Rise of Skywalker in 3D at the Plaza Theatre. The cinema is quirky in the extreme. Ticket prices are very reasonable as were the cost of popcorn and the like. In the quirky column, the toilet in the cinema we were in is only accessible via a doorway located to the right of the screen. There is also a big digital clock located at the front of the cinema. The thing I could not abide was the cinema's treatment of the movies credits. The sound was paused to allow an announcement reminding patrons to return their 3D glasses. Then the credits were cutoff early. No matter the move, you need to respect the creators of that move by allowing the credits to run their full duration. It was disrespectful. Other than that, a beautiful cinema.

This local cinema theater is a great theater and we have lots of great memories of our visits to it. I am always impressed by the sound quality and the freindly staff. It's a good idea to pre book now and then specially when your movie is showing in the smaller theater

Has to be one of the best maintained cinemas I've ever seen. The old world charm begins when you enter, but once inside the theatre the care in either maintaining or refurbishing the theatre is outstanding. You are greeted by lush red velvet drapes, gold statuettes, a grand piano and very comfortable seating are just some of the many highlights. It's like going back in time some 50 years or so and the whole experience is so worth it. Prices are equal to or better than other cinemas in the area. A must see and experience.

What a pleasure to see a film at the Plaza Theatre at Laurieton. Its an original restored period cinema similar to the Cremorne Orpheum and the State Theatre in Sydney and a perfect place to see the latest film release. It has two screens being the larger auditorium and a smaller Cine-lounge one and is nicely air conditioned for the hot summer months. Seats are very comfortable and the choc tops and pop corn are there are for those who like the add-ons. We saw 'A Star is Born'' when staying at Camden Head this year. Recommended.

Both the theatres (the large and the smaller one) are very comfortable and the sound is good. The Sunday 2 for 1 deal is great value provided you get two movie you want to watch !! The larger theatre is worth a visit just to look at the wonderful way it is decorated and presented. A hidden treasure.

Dropped in during school holidays, old school cinema theatre; retro decor from the lobby into the theatre. Same price as most cinemas, got all the latest films for a small cinema. Two screens. Differently check it out.

Hands down one of the best moviegoing experience I’ve had anywhere in the world. And I’ve had quite a few. David has lovingly restored this 100+ year-old rural theatre to its former glory. And then some. Situated in gorgeous, seaside Laurieton, this two-screen cinema theatre (a large auditorium and a smaller, exclusive CineLounge - both with excellent sound and picture tech specs) offers patrons a lavish cinema experience, complete with nostalgic memorabilia, decor and a pre-show presentation that recalls Hollywood’s glamorous glory days. The Plaza offers a great mix of the latest blockbusters and smaller, arthouse films, making it a winning destination for both young, old and in-between movie lovers. It’s a huge credit to David - and a blessing to everyone lucky enough to live in close vicinity to The Plaza - that this kind of cinema experience still exists in Australia. If passing through this beautiful part of Australia, do yourself and your friends a favour and call in to Laurieton and the Plaza. You won’t regret it.

A visit to this unique little theatre is a step back in time to the days when cinemas were works of art. The beautiful Art Deco style of the cinema is amazing and you could believe you have travelled back to the 1930’s. If you find yourself in Laurieton treat yourself to a visit to the Plaza Theatre.
